I dropped the latest updates on my AMD machine "Manual Install" and my drive problems have vanished and it's faster by 400 points in cinebench R23

Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 21H2
Installed on ‎06/‎10/‎2021
OS build 22000.282
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.282.0

Search: UUP Dump in the latest folder
Windows10.0-KB5006746-x64_55bb1eba.cab
Windows10.0-KB5006746-x64_7cd9b866.psf
SSU-22000.280-x64_a0be706b.cab

Use: W10UI_10.12.zip
Or use the ISO from uup dump and follow the script instructions
To be clear, use the script to make an ISO

Anyone else keep getting this box of the unknown showing up on their desktop which just wont go away until a restart?

i have no clue how it gets there, just using the pc normally then i go to desktop and its there lol, Must be a bug i just don't know what's causing it.
Refreshing desktop does not make it go away.

Task manager should show something for it. My guess would be some kind of notification or similar from bundled software like a Control Centre application for the motherboard, etc.

After a little while on win 11 I'm happy with the os.
I'm running a i5 2500k runs fine and I'm not getting the constant error issues I had with win 10. No performance difference in games. UI is improved I think apart from no labels on the bottom bar (start all back to the rescue)

Finally installed it via Bootcamp on my MBP and it’s working great.

That’s two Ryzen PC’s and a MBP and I’ve yet to stumble across a single bug as yet.

Not bad for a new OS release TBH.

Discovered a little talked about feature in 11's photo viewer tonight by accident. If you open an image from a folder or desktop where other images are too, then you can tick the little checkbox of other images in the carrousel at the bottom to then get a grouped view of selected images. Nice for overviews/side by side views etc. Neat!

They never said they won't support updates on old hardware! They merely said you're not "entitled" to them, which doesn't mean a yes or a no. In the literal sense it just means if you contact MS support for help, they will turn you away.
