Also the black trim around the windows has water marks that don't shift during a wash - I am going to try and BH Clay this weekend but is there anyone else with similar issues?
I have a real issue with limescale in this property so I save up dehumidfier (distilled-ish) water in a 5L bottle. Use that to rinse the car for final rinse to reduce water marks. It's juuuust about enough for my tiny Smart so 2x bottles would probably be enough for a normal car. Even better if you can buy a spray bottle to properly distribute it, rather than chucking it over the car from a bottle :)

I recently refused to buy a C63 that had the same/similar issue. Do they look iridescent? Mercedes couldn't shift the marks with any normal cleaning and refused to change the trim. 2019 car too...

Hello all

Further to this thread https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...leather-seats-any-way-back-from-this.18940628 I'm after recommendations for a good leather cleaner that has a chance of removing dye transfer from seat covers, please.

I've already tried Meguiar's Gold Class leather cleaner and conditioner, which didn't touch it.

Is the Autoglym one worth a shot?
TBH I'd look for a specialist leather product rather than a car product IYSWIM. I'll look for a link to the restoration product M539 (YouTube channel) used as he had some impressive results...

Brand is Colourlock and they have colour restore kits but this might be the first port of call:

Cheers will look.

And check if it is actually leather first.

Yeah it's definitely genuine animal leather.

I went Pumpkin picking with my partner and daughter a couple of weeks back so a muddy car was unavoidable however I try to keep my interior immaculate so shortly after I gave it some TLC.

Washed the Caterham for the first time. Lots of water in the foot wells even though I only sprayed a bit of water on the seats..
Panel fitment is almost worse than a Tesla ;)

Thanks to @JRed for the tip on Autofinesse Citrus products. Worked a treat.

I need to get a Kärcher for the bigger cars as I've no chance blasting off the dirt without having to hand-wash them all the time. What's the pick of the range for car cleaning? K4? K5?

edit- went all-out and got a K5 and an MTM Hydro PF22.2
I'm sure it's complete overkill but hey ho

Did you vacuum lines into your carpet? That is splendid OCD, sir.

Guilty of being OCD when it comes to my car interior… but why thank you :D

I always thought the stripes were done by a vacuum until I looked into how to do it.

Once completely clean I lightly mist the mats with a fabric freshener to dampen the fibres and then go in opposite directions with a hand brush to produce the stripes!
Those look hilarious :)

Well I think the stripes in your lawn look hilarious :p
Someone is really selling a "carpet stripe tool" for fifteen quid. Good Lord.

At least I didn’t fall victim to this and used a £3/4 Vikan Hand Brush from eBay… But perhaps the £15 stripe tool will give me bigger, better more uniform stripes!!!

Do these stripes actually stay in the carpet for a bit? Or is it only for the passenger side in Nobby no-mates's show car?

They are very much temporary with passengers however I find that it’s just a patch which wears away in the middle typically where feet end up and the stripes continue before and after that patch.

Nobody tends to sit in the back of my car and daughter is still in a car seat so they tend to last.

It does only take 30 seconds once you’ve done it a couple of times to be fair, it’s just an additional touch after properly cleaning the mats I suppose.

Oh yeah I'll definitely be trying it next time :D
