Hello

I purchased a light without foreword thinking.

I currently have a ceiling rose with a rounded light mount at the top. As seen here:

However, I want to have the below light fitted but its a much larger mount and rectangular

Could this be fitted still? If so, what is the best way around it? The rose cannot be taken down as the ceiling is papered and plastered.

Thanks.

That is going to look crap with the circular ceiling decor, get a light with a circular mount that will fit the existing space is what will look best.

Can it still be fitted? Yes.

Will it most likely look horrendous? Also yes.

Either do as suggested above and just get a circular light or depends on how much effort you want to put in. Get some decent length screws and just bodge it over the top or cut / chisel out a space for the rectangular mount. Or start again, rip out the rose, take off the paper and get the whole thing plastered.
