Beards, and more beards

I've tried, but I can never get past the itchy phase. I went two months and got rid of it because I was going insane. It never got to a particularly even look even after 2 months so I decided that I'm just not beard material.

Max growth i can sustain is 20 days... i unfortunately can't stand the itching phase.

A tip for the itchers, I was in a similar position, can grow decent beard but very spiky and itchy feeling after a certain length about 3 weeks onwards of no shaving. Beard oil for softening feels too greasy for me and leaves a shiny, wet look, the real remedy I discovered is talc.

Simple talc will stop an itchy beard growth a lot better than beard oil does for me. Medicated talc even better, just rub a small amount into a beard onto your skin and it'll relieve it, especially good for at night before sleeping, I find applying even once at night can reduce it a lot or even get rid of it the next day. Without talc I'd have to shave after 2-3 weeks without fail as I just couldn't stand it. Now I'm shaving around once a month or so and growing in a full, albeit shortish beard in between each time. I like a clean shave to reset things then just grow again, and the growth stage of a beard is nicer on me than a very long one. But yeah, talc is the solution, I can almost guarantee you can grow your beards longer without irritation if you use it.

Cool cheers, if I give it a go again I'll definitely try that. Got plenty of talc about so might as well! Think that I can't get a very clean beard though as I have some bits that just never filled out much. I can do a great moustache, but looking like a 70s pornstar isn't really in these days.

I had a nightmare last night that I had shaved my beard off. Anyone else ever have these? I woke up in distress clutching my face. Thankfully it's still there.

Anyone I know who has shaved it off has always grown it back. Just don't do it!

I grew one to hide my weak chin, and it works. Last time I shaved it all off I was staring at myself for 20mins wondering where my chin went. Shave the moustache part off though, can't be dealing with that.

Panting like a fiend
I grew one from about June last year until a few weeks back but shaved it off because I was getting fed up of the amount of hair it was shedding, and it had reached the point where it was waking me up at times at night :) (I'd wake up to something brushing my arm/neck).

Thought, as you being a Werewolf you would be used to all that hair!

I always get to the point of being fed up with facial hair and trim it back down to 1mm or 2mm, it itches after a certain point.

BUT I have kinda told my fiance that I will try to be fully bearded for our wedding in May. So between 1 month ago and May 2022 I am only allowed wee tidy up trims if parts start to go wild.

Will see how it pans out. Im fairly light haired, but my beard comes in gingerish!

If it itches, just get some beard oil and start using it early, even after a couple of weeks.

Then in the "awkward phase" just make sure it's tidy/sharp at the edges and that you mean it to be there. Like it's intentional, rather than you just haven't shaved. For me this was between about 2-5 weeks, which I was off work for stress, so it all worked rather well. Everyone is different, but for me after about six weeks I could call it something that was well on its way to being a beard, and after ten weeks it was 'complete'.
