True, seems like samsung chips well binned are again the part to get. But at least it is already on the market with potential to improve.

its competition is 3600 cl14, which was available maybe 2-3 years after ddr4 launched?

DDR5 won't be noticeably better than higher end DDR4 modules in most tasks, until CPUs can support the memory controller running at full speed ('gear 1' as Intel calls it).

Just look at how running in 'gear 2' cripples DDR4 performance...

It will be interesting to see how Zen 4 and Meteor Lake handle DDR5. Would be good to see full speed memory controller support, at least for DDR5 4800mhz modules. They aren't far off this with DDR4 modules...

Buying DDR5 now for a games only system is just as ridiculous as those who bought PCI-E 4.0 M.2 drives for games only 2 years ago, to this day there is still no benefit in gaming, and the prices are about 1/3 per GB or less.
