Exactly this. Early Access is one of the main reasons why gaming is in the state that it currently is.
That's your choice I guess. £30 is a good price. It's been in dev for 5 years... they only just released it as early access. Looks to be a true successor for SWAT 4 which is all good in my book.

Does this have a campaign ? or is it sorely multiplayer like joining up with a friend and take on other players or AI ?

It will eventually have a campaign yes, not all the maps are finished yet. You can play solo with AI or COOP, currently.

Can't believe it's still top seller being the niche game that it is (was!) And no gaming outlets have covered it at all, why do you think that is?

The game is ace. So far becoming a true SWAT 4 successor. Plenty of youtubers are playing it and loving it.

It could be the best game ever, I'm still not going to pay full-price to beta test a game.

It's not full price, it will go up nearer release.
Exactly, £30 is a good price considering, it's in a very good state development wise. It's one to watch this year. Let alone the modding potential.
If it ever does.
Then games plummet after release.
No micro transactions. No exclusives. No pre-orders. No early access.
perhaps for a few weeks until the hype dies down.
what was the other game that did that scum? lets face it with early access the hype never leaves early access and people never come back one day

Got it a week or two ago, really enjoying Single Player (very much SWAT 3/4 vibes) but multiplayer is just soooooo poor unless you have a dedicated team of friends playing together like those YT vid's. If you're just joining a public server it's chaos
