Results have fell off a cliff, fallen out with his £90m summer signing and John Terry's just returned to work at the academy. Unless Chelsea win the CL then £5 on John Terry to be caretaker at Chelsea before the WC kicks off has got to be a decent bet.

Radio were basically saying Tuchel was demanding players do things but players werent responding to him. He gave up in the end and just sat down.

He'll be gone before end of Feb imo.

Someone pointed out that they have fallen off a bit of a cliff since Chillwell and James got injured and its true. They were absolute monsters for them in the early season.

Imagine if Liverpool lost Robertson and TAA for months of the season. We saw what happens when you lose absolutely vital players last season. Liverpool were a mess compared to this year.

To be fair last season we had 20 different cb partnerships...its not really comparable. We also still finished above Chelsea.

If Robertsons out then Tzimikas isnt a bigger drop then it is from Chilwell to Alonso. Williams the backup to Trent is a Welsh international. You also have Gomez and Fabinho who can play there.

Chelseas issue imo is the players simply dont care. Lukaku is stinking the place out and the rest just arent as good as people think.

Chelseas squad isnt as good as people think it is.

If you follow any statto's on twitter they'd have told you this downturn in results for Chelsea was long over due. Their underlying numbers both in attack and defense were not nearly as good as the results they were getting and it was only a matter of time before opposition sides started taking their chances and Chelsea's CB's goals dried up.

Chelsea's CB's have scored 10 goals this season, that's not sustainable and neither is stringing together a run of results when Jorginho's your top scorer with 9 goals (all pens?).

All it goes to show how much of a spawny comp the champs league is yet we all revere it so much. Tuchel is several levels below Klopp and Guiardiola. The fact Ole could go toe to toe with him says it all. I understand the need to play 5ATB when he first took over but surely now they should be playing a 433 like at the top teams. Especially with the squad he has.

Not sure what they are putting in the water at Fulham but they've gone nuts. Last 3 results are 7-0, 6-2, 6-2, they've scored 19 goals in 3 games lol

I think that's pushing it a bit @adam cool dude . Chelsea didn't exactly fluke their way to the CL - Tuchel set them up very well to give them the best chance of winning the games in front of them and it worked.

Chelsea are set-up not to lose, knowing that more often than not they've got enough going forward to win anyway. In years gone by that approach has won teams the League with 80-90 points and it's an approach that will stand you in good stead in the CL too - draws don't knock you out, losses do. In the era of 95+ point teams in the PL that approach won't work anymore. The flip side to that is City's all out approach to win every game means that when they don't win, they usually lose and that odd loss here and there is what's killed them in the CL.

I think people forget that United used to win the league by beating the bread and butter of the league week in week out and then in the big games we would pack the side with workmanlike players quite often and basically try not to lose. Ferguson was the master of being pragmatic and doing what was required to get the result he wanted. This was all the more apparent when we were in the CL. We would be on the back foot in a lot of the latter stage games because Fergie knew we couldn't go toe to toe without getting dismantled.

As Baz says, these days that approach doesn't usually pay off, especially in the league.
