You won't be CPU bound with an RTX 2070 unless your turning all the settings down.

Have you tried overclocking your current ram? I run my 3200mhz kit at 3800 for example.

Hey folks anybody used this memory and how does it overclock? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...-3733mhz-dual-quad-channel-kit-my-005-gi.html

Im currently using G Skill trident Z RGB at the default XMP of 3200mhz at CL16 16-18-18-36

Looking for which will give me the best FPS at 1080p Ultrawide?
Trident Z is good stuff. Rather try overclocking it than throwing it out and starting again.

Use Ryzen Dram configurator as a easy go to start for timings. It’ll help the performance by 5 fps. It’s not the holy grail of RAM overclocking but for noobs, it’s a great entry point.

Get this if your budget allows - currently running it at 3733 cl14 on a 5800x.

That’s probably the best B Die on sale right now and it was priced at £120 not that long ago.

2 kits of it would be amazingly fast with a Ryzen 5000 series CPU too. (For some odd reason, 5000 CPUs love 4 by 8gig setups)

If it was easy to get dual rank modules with 2 by 16gig kits, I’d rather go that route than 4 by 8gig but it’s almost impossible to do since manufacturers switch between single and dual sided DIMMs at will.

Faceman, what are your sub timings and have you set FCLK to match your RAM speed?

I want to get a kit of that RAM at some point (I’ve got 4 by 8gig 8Pack B die already coming) to add to my collection.

Yes FCLK also 3733 - sub timmings at 14-14-14-14-31 and i'll get the other timings for you but all tight - when i can be bothered to do more research i'll try 3800,

Very nice. Can you get your timing down from 31 or is it fixed at that?

I managed to get Samsung D die from 38 to 14-15-14-14-21 with some fiddling.

it was a quick one - and then memtest for a few hours, likely can get it down i might set it to 27 later on - I have seen people with this kit get much better figures than myself

F4-3600C16D-16GTZNC I've found some of this Memory for around 100 pounds plus i have a 30 pounds voucher which i got for Christmas so would bring it down to me paying about 80 pounds then could sell my current memory for about that price so would be a few upgrade then could probably get it running at 3733mhz with tightened CL16 timings? Thoughts?

Seems workable.

Going to steal this and see if I can replicate it (I doubt it since I’m using an inferior motherboard but it’s a good target)
Worth a try :)
By all accounts, the Tomahawk is about the same. I was going to get that same board but decided on the Unify based on a review of the thermals and slightly improved audio chip... but then bought a Soundblaster G6 because the onboard audio was still rubbish

edit, also worth mentioning this I've ran 1.5V for around a year. Totally stable with everything i've thrown at it, but recently bought a license for Karhu.
It showed 1 error after 3 hours so downed the voltage to 1.49V, this shows 1.52V in BIOS once it's set. So far so good

your timings did help - I dropped my latency from 73 to 69 (nice) but we are talking your same timings at far lower speed.

So your ram is far better quality than mine.

I can’t go above 3200. Might be the CPU or motherboard but I doubt it.

Could you show me your timings if you get a chance please? I have the same set and have managed to tune it to 3800 CL16 but while it's stable 99% of the time I very rarely still get crashes, and so I'm looking to try other settings. Not sure whether it's the timings causing it or if 1900MHz FCLK is too high for my CPU. It's always the same 2 cores that show WHEA errors (CPU is at stock and seems to be 100% stable using the XMP profile, although obviously that has much higher latency, breaking the 1:1 ratio with FCLK and UCLK).

Run MemTest 2.5. Same goes to @Kirby Wurm

Monitor it for a few mins and if there are no errors, leave it overnight so there something like 500% coverage

It's what Gskill use

https://www.gskill.com/community/15...Memory-Kit-for-AMD-Ryzen-3000-&-X570-Platform
https://greentechreviews.ru/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/RunMemTest-Pro-v2.5.zip
https://greentechreviews.ru/tag/memtest-2-5-dang-wang/

There are other tools like I used before - TestMem5 v0.12 using the Extreme config but i've ran multiple passes of that but then hit an error with MemTest 2.5.

It should look something like this. I found dropping voltage in BIOS from 1.50 to 1.49 has helped a lot.
