What "man jobs" have you done today?

Nothing DIY but I did just top to bottom dust every room, every door, frame, skirting board, blinds, window frames and anything else I saw with dust on. Then hoovered every room even behind the sofas etc then mopped the wooden flooring areas.

Then I defingered the TV from all the greasy kid fingers. Looks like a new TV now.

Pulled up some boarding in the loft as I was concerned that steam wasn't venting from the shower properly. Glad I did, there's damp under the boards and in the insulation. I'll have to get that sorted so looking at options now.

Been working on this lightsaber for my sons toy. Not my design, I just glued and sprayed it.

Built myself a workbench.

I've enjoyed building small bits of furniture over the last couple years and plan to do a bit more when the wether is nicer, so I thought rather than using an old table and the floor like I usually do I would build a sturdy bench.

Not finished yet, just need two pieces on the bottom shelf. I changed design (which was just in my head anyway) just as I started so ended up being a little short on material. The stack of wood on top is waste so I think I did pretty good getting the most out of what I had. It is rock solid even without the last two supports or the bottom shelf, so I'm sure it'll last a while.

Good stuff.

I made one years ago (and it's still standing) - simple garden wood and trash bin bits doubled up - it's M&T joints with a screw in too:

The top in this photo was simply placed on but now has pegs at the top of the legs into the top too - it's offset to take a vice or odd shaped work. Also got a cross beam at the back for additional stability later:

I took a couple of asbestos samples from the loft to get them tested before I insulate and board it. Stupidly I realised I should have bought a 3 sample pack because there are some tiles downstairs under the wooden floor that I'm very suspicious of

Becoming a bit of a big job, first time wet room using Jackoboard system for the floor and Selkie wall boards. Very labour intense and getting really expensive. Well glad I'm doing it, wouldn't like the bill for this one.
Was a sperate toilet and bathroom first job was to knock adjoining wall out and brick up door way, re-board and skim ceiling and then a lot of chiselling. Had to have three fall to the linear trap rest see below :)

I think builders/sparkies just treat a loft as a big dumping ground. Both yours and the one above look good, did you get halfway through and start thinking it's a mess and need a boost of motivation?

I have my loft to do, been putting it off for years but may take the plunge in Spring - not looking forward to it, will need a skip to get rid of years of saved boxes and **** accrued 'just in case' lol
