Hi,

Just had a look at the new monitors on OCUK and did a bit of drooling :p

So at the moment i am leaning towards this monitor:

BenQ FP202W 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black (MO-014-BQ)

But what panel does it use the new P-MVA one?

Also what are these screens panels and general thoughts about them:

Acer AL2032WA 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver (MO-014-AC)
Philips 200W6CS 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Silver (MO-015-PH)

I personally like the BenQ cos of the looks, how are their pixel policy btw?? I don't really like silver screens for some reason but if the Acer or Philips ones are better i would go for them, but waiting for some OCUK peeps reviews on these.

There is an NEC screen too, which looks good. It's out in a week or so, but nobody has got hold of them yet.

Any info on the Acer 20" because that looks rather nice!, If it's not a TN panel, then I might just get that instead of the Belinea. Anybody know?!

Thanks

I just read a spec sheet on a retailer's website saying that the AL2032wa is a S-IPS panel.

Don't take my word for it though.

Well I think the idea of a list of screen panels is a good one so, found out some more info on the NEC screen and the details of some other panels:

Belinea 102035W - P-MVA
BenQ FP202W - TN
NEC MultiSync® 20WGX² - AS-IPS
Acer AL2016Ws - TN
Acer AL2032WA - Super-IPS

AL2016Ws - TN panel

Haven't you listed an Acer model twice , with different panels ?

On the OcUK website the cheaper Acer is TN, the more expensive is S-IPS :)

We just need more info on that Philips screen now :(

Well, the way i think of it is that, worst case scenerio, S-IPS panel. Which is better than a TN panel anyway and got ont he A-List in the PCPRO magazine review, the probable panel is the P-MVA panel since all indication points that way. Which is a great result, and no way it will be a TN panel.

Now look at other screens in the same class, only the Belinea uses the P-MVA panel and i have decided i don't want that so that doesn't leave much other choice. Wait for the NEC ? Get a £100 more Acer which also uses a S-IPS panel? or £100 for a TN panel BenQ ? or wait for a now more expensive Dell 2007 ? or guarantee more expensive Viewsonic 2025?

I say Phillips all the way on this one.

Yeah it is looking promsing for the Philips, I just wish that they did one in a black finish. For some reason I really don't like that silver finish. Hence at the moment leaning towards the Belinea but waiting for the Viewsonic I think.

AS-IPS+
6ms G-2-G
178x178 viewing angles
700:1 contrast (1600:1 with something called advanced dv mode)
