Is '1/2"' the same as '10mm'? I've found a replacement Waterchill pump, but my current one uses 10mm fittings, what's the difference between that and '1/2"'

There is 1/2" outer diameter (OD) and inner diameter (ID). Which are you after?

I know 10mm is the OD I need, think 8mm is the ID of the tubing.

1/2" OD is the same as 10mm ID. 10mm is also known as 3/8" ID.

Don't quote me on this, it's a bit complicated for my head atm

Yeah, I found this thing that explained it all but it just confused me even more, oh well. The blocks use a universal pipe size so I can only assume that the pump uses the same one, i'll just buy it and find out

That pump says 1/2" which usually means inside diameter not outside diameter. That's the case with all the kit i have just got anyway.

Here are some popular tubing sizes. I have put ID and then OD with mm in brackets.

1/4" ID (6.35mm) - 3/8" OD (9.525mm)
3/8" ID (9.525mm) - 1/2" OD (12.7mm)
7/16" ID (11.12mm) - 5/8" OD (15.875mm)
1/2" ID (12.7mm) - 3/4" OD (19.050mm)

There's also metric as well,

8mm ID - 10mm OD
8mm ID - 11.2mm OD (Tygon R3603)
