Hi guys, my first post down these parts, im a mainly motors forum man!

Ive decided to upgrade my PC, my currect spec as follows:

XP2400
1GB Crucial Memory
Rad 9700 Pro
Couple of 200GB SATA HDD's

I play games usually, have just bought an opteron 148 from MM which the guy reckons will do 3GHz. Its had the IHS removed as he was running water cooling. What ramifications does this have for me, i need to buy a Heatsink, but which one do i buy and will it fit ok with having the IHS removed. I'll be buying the DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D mobo. Just wanna make sure i wont have probs fitting the HSF.

New Spec will be:
Opty 148 running @ ?
2GB Crucial Ballastix
Not sure on GFX card yet

Thanks for any help.

Thermaltake Big Typhoon would be good with that setup. Best read up on it though as I've yet to buy one to know how good it is and they're supposedly a bit time consuming to install.

With any bolt down heatsink you gotta be careful you don't crush the lidless CPU.

A few on here have the TT so maybe someone else can tell you more about it.
