Hey,

I tried installing vista on a seperate partition to my XP install but it failed half way through...now my original XP installation says that hal.dll is missing and needs a copy reinstalling....how would I do this?

Ta!

Try booting from your Windows XP CD and either repairing the installation or attempt to use the recovery console and copy the hal.dll back across from the CD?

Sorry can't be more precise but I have a bit of bother with Windows myself at the moment which I'm trying to fix. :(
