Swiftech Apex Ultra attachment question

Just unpacked this kit and whilst readign through the instruction i noticed a diagram for attaching the CPU block to a Skt 939 Mobo.
Serial 1a is described as a Back Plate, i cant find this in the box, is it attached to the mobo already by any chance or should it have been in the box?

939's have a back plate (normally black) attached to the underside of the mobo yes.

The backplate will be attached to the mobo already. The plastic retention bracket is screwed into it ATM
