    Projector as TV

We hardly watch "normal" telly, its almost all prime/Netflix/YouTube/movies etc. The projectors I'm looking at all have Android either built in or stick included and all from one remote - our current Sony TV is android and takes about a minute to boot up and connect to wifi The input lag on...

    Projector as TV

thanks, that does actually help a lot and its #4 on their Best under $3k and even looking at the under $5k ones, they all have something "wrong" in comparison for what I would be using it for

    Projector as TV

The only time we would worry about HDR is either for watching a movie or gaming, the room we would put this in is already at the back of the house (e.g. north facing) and only has one small window which already has a blackout blind my gaming monitor does 90cd/m2 and this projector even on HDR...

    Projector as TV

I've just stumbled across the BenQ X3000i It's £1500, seems to be a pretty decent bright projector that also does up to 240hz at 1080P It's ticking a lot of my boxes at the mo, and as it's not UST, an ALR screen seems to be much cheaper Someone tell me I'm wrong?

    Projector as TV

Tempted by the option of 100-150inch you get with a projector, we are seriously considering getting a projector instead as the newer ones seem to be over 2000 lumens, so basically watchable with the curtains open but the option of the full on 150inch home cinema experience when you want it...

Russia only became suddenly more interested in Ukraine when new oil/gas fields were discovered.

Today's UK Government Farce - Passports

Yep, same here, did one earlier in the year and it took 3 weeks, just done another and it's arriving today - exactly 2 weeks

The infographic on russian TV that went along with the "UK will be sunk" comment showed a nuke hitting the UK directly and then it sort of dissolves in to blue. So I'm not sure the Russian military literally argued they'd created a tsunami bomb, I think a pundit on TV was claiming a single...

Where is the source that the US guy mentioned specifically was on $2k a day? I was under the impression he joined the Ukrainian foreign legion, and they are not getting that.

You're calling them "mercenaries" because they get paid. Anyone who joins the army is called a "volunteer" because it distinguishes between forces that recruit people who join up through their own choice vs. countries that force people to join the army (look up "conscription"). It doesn't mean...

No one should be turning up at the border, they are recruiting volunteers through their embassies, so what you've described is the correct process for any volunteers wanting to join the Ukrainian military. To be honest I don't really care what they are being paid if they are stopping Putin from...

They are volunteering to join the Ukrainian army and being paid in line with Ukrainian soldiers. Volunteer as opposed to conscripted, not volunteer as in do it for free. Literally no one fighting on either side is doing it for free. Wagner typically hire criminals and they have a high incidence...

New GPUs this year … worth pre ordering ?

If the miners are buying palette loads direct from AIB's again it will still affect the UK allocation. If those countries are hoovering up cards and the scalpers get in on it, they will find a way to buy UK cards if they are cheaper and the whole cycle begins again.

New GPUs this year … worth pre ordering ?

In the UK yes, but not every country's electricity supply is so dependent on gas.

That's the 300, the switchblade 600 has a max range of 80km and is designed to take out tanks. And the rumours are the new "ghost phoenix" version has a flight time of several hours. Any explosive could start a fire at a fuel depot though, why would it need to be particularly powerful? Having...

For example, France were supplying the optics for the BMP 30mm canon, so whilst it might seem quite low value, how many components are out there enabling whole machines to work. And then there's videos and pics of civilian cars riddled with 30mm shell holes...

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices)

My boiler doesn't support dynamic temperature changing, so it would only be the on/off function, so I would still have to manually reduce the boiler temp to actually get the boiler to be more efficient - but interesting yours goes down to 30, I might try lowering ours a bit more and see what...
