Set mine to 1800/825. That along with capping my fps to 120 in more demanding games has halved the coil whine noise and temps are high 50's to low 60's.
Kind of a dumb question but changing psu isn't likely to reduce the coil whine in my gpu is it?
Currently have a EVGA G2 850W that's about 6 years old.
Yeah this was with Battlefield 5 running, doesn't bother me since i have my headphones on but my computer is in a room that has other people in and i was getting comments like "What's wrong with your computer?".
Hopefully it quietens down a bit.
Had a EVGA 850W G2 for 5+ years running a 4790K and 980TI. Then i got a 3090 FE put that in my system while i waited for my other stuff, had no problems for about 2 months.
This week i finally got all my stuff for a new system (specs are in my signature) and i've started getting coil whine...
Got my 5900X last week, not installed it yet since i ran out of thermal paste. Ordered some more but Royal Mail have decided to send it to 3 different parts of the UK
Well after sending my 5800X back i was going to wait for reviews for Rocket Lake but i randomly checked an American website and saw 5900X in stock.
Ordered, finally getting the CPU i wanted :D
Just took a look on the bay, £2400+ in the sold listings for a 3090FE?
I mean if someone offered me that in cash right now i'd take it. Think i could manage to make due with my old 980TI for at least another year.
I'm at stock settings with XMP enabled, all drivers and bios updated to latest. The crashes have happened when at idle or just using Firefox.
Think i'm going to send it back and get a refund. I don't want to keep having to tinker with settings. I'll go back to my 4790K then pick a CPU later on...
