Can someone explain to me why there’s a transfer window when agreements can be made before the window is officially open? What’s the point?!

I’m going through the early stages of getting ideas for a kitchen refit. Getting tradesmen in isn’t easy, getting quotes is even harder, and my own estimate for having the kitchen done is well below two estimates I have received. If not needed save yourself the stress and aggravation.

Have you used the mortar yourself ?

Looking for recommendations on what to use to make minor repair’s on the pointing on my brickwork. Mortar is loose around down pipe which needs replacing and where I’ve had a security light replaced.
