Thanks for the reply, his Hisense TV is 4k, but only 60hz, so there's probably not much point in getting a higher hz 4k monitor, as the 3070 only just gets 60fps in modern games.

Thanks again for the replies, it's always about weighing up the pros and cons, sell the 3600 now for about £120 and get a 5800x for about £280, or sell the 3600 next year for £80’ish and hopefully pick up a 5800x for £200'ish. I think the 60fps limit on his TV is a big factor too, a CPU upgrade...

I've just ran a quick Valhalla benchmark, 1440P everything maxed out, GPU 95 to 100%, CPU 40 to 60%, solid 60FPS.

It appears that at any resolution above 1080P, the difference is negligible, and he plays everything in at least 1440P, so probably not worth it for now, thanks for the replies.

Will it make a noticeable difference, just going from 6 older cores to 6 newer cores? I'm hoping so, but tempted by the 5800x too.
