Another attempt. A Grade Beam Gen 2 from CEX, £50 cheaper than when I ordered it the first time. After removing the packing materials, it is very obviously a Beam Gen 2, the correct item. This could work out quite well. Also, I made a lot more money from selling my RTX 2060 for a CEX voucher a...

    Sound Blaster Z SE

Yes, I expect it should work fine. Just check the tehnical info for the motherboard. Sometimes using the 2nd PCIe slot causes the primary to run in x8 mode.

When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

It's noticeable. Sold my RTX 2060 to CEX for a £313 voucher. It's still in the same store for £300 cash just now.

    RTX 3050 - starting at $249 (msrp)

I've not had any problems with the Palit, though only a few hours gaming in there. Many hours of low load use, with no problems. No crashing. No freezing. All good.

Pops head in. No problems with my Palit RTX 3050 here so far.

    Total War: Warhammer III Benchmarks

And what on earth is going on with the GTX 1660 ti results at 1440p and 4k?!

    Total War: Warhammer III Benchmarks

Interesting in those techpowerup benchmarks that the RTX 3050 8GB comes ahead of the RX 6500 XT 4GB at 1080p but falls behind it at 1440p. Not what I would have predicted.

    OcUK RX6500XT review thread

Indeed. There are no budget GPUs in this generation, unless you count CPUs with integrated graphics - and RDNA2 hasn't been released in that capacity yet. I would argue the only 'budget' GPU of this generation is in the Xbox Series S. Doesn't help PC gamers much.

Tomshardware: nVidia may launch $199 RTX 3050 4GB

https://www.tomshardware.com/news/nvidia-may-launch-geforce-rtx-3050-4gb-199-dollars Given all the compromises of the RX 6500 XT, I think launching a 4GB version of the RTX 3050, at a reasonable price may be a good move. If they can keep it at PCIe 4.0 8x, it's not going to be as fundamentally...

    OcUK RX6500XT review thread

I think there's a point here in that the RX 6500 XT is competing with the existing graphics cards in people's PCs. And if you have any card of comparable price from about the last 6 years, it's not worth changing.

Reducing Energy Costs - Graphics and System Related

Lots of low power cores may be the way forwards for GPUs in terms of efficiency. The Quadro RTX A2000 is supposed to be bus powered (so I believe less than 75w) but have similar gaming performance to an RTX 3050. It's considerably lower clocked.

Thanks. This is odd. FB was showing me the INC VAT prices just days ago. No idea what's caused the change.

    OcUK RX6500XT review thread

OK. Facebook is showing me an ad for one of those at £166.66 from OCUK. Clicked on the link and it says £199.99, as expected. I'm not planning to buy one, but is anything in the works, or was there a short duration deal @Gibbo? That advertised price is getting low enough I might actually...

Well, this didn't quite go to plan. Decided to use up my CEX vouchers on this (A grade). They've sent me a Gen 1. Wrong item ticket raised. Edit: just a quick question: if I set up a couple of Symfonisk bookshelves with a beam Gen 2 for rear surrounds, would the app automatically...

    RTX 3050 - starting at $249 (msrp)

2700x and B450 here. It's working fine for me. I had updated the MB bios quite recently though. Previous cards with this combination were RTX 2060 and GTX 970.

    RTX 3050 - starting at $249 (msrp)

Depends on the game really. Techpowerup do all their benchmarking on highest settings. There are not many the RTX 3050 can't manage, very few when you bring DLSS into play. But yes the RTX 2060 is more comfortably there. The RTX 3060 is very comfortably there. Mind you with all of them it's a...

    RTX 3050 - starting at $249 (msrp)

I'm also a little squeamish that the card I paid £240 for not so long ago is now £330. IMO, 1080p mostly high to ultra settings cards need to be hanging around the £280 mark or lower to be in line with GPU pricing as it was before the market went insane. The RTX 3050 is just about the bare...

    RTX 3050 - starting at $249 (msrp)

Actually the stock situation on a lot of cards looks pretty healthy at the moment. If I was in the market for a new card, I can see RTX 2060s, RX 6600s, RX 6600 XTs, RX3060s in stock at prices that, while still probably too high, don't cause me to wince in pain and stare in incredulity.

    RTX 3050 - starting at $249 (msrp)

I mean you can literally get an RTX 3060 on OCUK for the same money, or an RX 6600 XT for less. These cards are available. Why on earth would you go for an ASUS RTX 3050 in those circumstances? Edit: I see we were thinking on similar lines. You posted that while I was typing...
