It's because there has been a considerable regression in the price/performance at the low end? If we go by AMDs numbers, the value proposition is considerably worse than last gen. You know this already.
I understood it, pretty simple.
The cheapest 6 core 3xxx series CPU is vastly cheaper than the cheapest 6 core 5xxx series. Same for the 8 cores. Whether AMD decided to chuck an X on the end of the name is irrelevant.
It's only been one generation of rip-off pricing from Nvidia, please don't say you are conditioned by that yet? :p
The 1070 partner cards were releasing for under £350 in 2016, allowing inflation etc it should be no more than £400. But Nvidias net profit margin has over doubled in that time, so...

I want build a new high end gaming PC with a budget of under £3000. The below is what I've come up with. Does anyone have any suggestions for improvement? I'm not sure which graphics card brand is best, does anyone have good experiences with any in particular?
