I've used a clay mitt gently a couple of times on my car now and never machine polished. Not caused any issues that I can see.

I feel your pain Fox.. I'm ready for a change on my 65 plate f10, especially as I run it without warranty and got hit with a big bill this week (less than extended warranty would have costed though over the last 3 years) But like you say not prepared to pay current asking prices on a g30, so...

@bainbridge, you might be happy with Fairy but there are proper car products to strip wax and sealants that I suspect will do a far better job... Checkout Garage Therapy Decon Shampoo for starters... Cheers

I have an autobrite Lance and with 100ml polar blast to 500ml water it gives thick shaving foam consistency if I want it to.. I dial it back otherwise it sits on the drive for far too long. Not actually overly impressed with polar blast for cleaning ability, looking forward to getting it...

Everything little thing that's wrong with your car.

2015 bmw f10 Very Annoying excessive wind noise from front driver side window.. All the seals seem fine though When outside temperatures are hot, like this week, a clunking noise from the front of the car at slow speeds even when driving on flat smooth tarmac

Checkout garage therapy wheel shampoo.. Has a bit more bite than your normal shampoo but not as harsh as a wheel cleaner... Since I've started using it I've not had to use anything stronger like Bilt hamber

I've bought before and done it the way you are thinking of OP, that was nearly 20 years ago though. Would I do it again now... yes probably for the right car..

I can't say I've been overly impressed with the Autoglym polar blast (and I've got 5l of it to get through! ) . It has noticeably less cleaning power that bilt hamber in my opinion Good work on the mini and the caravan..

No not tried and I wouldn't either... IMO you really want to make sure all the snowfoam is properly off and doesn't leave any residue behind..
