Seemed to have fixed it.
For anyone that may come across this issue - the culprit was that I was using Windows 7 basic theme. Changing this back to normal w7 theme solved the issue.
Hi all,
I've bought a new monitor to act as my second one purely for movies/youtube and general internet browsing.
My problem is that I have noticed the new monitor screen horizontally tearing in on spot, which appears about 2 inches down from the top of the monitor. This is the only place...
Marketing has never been AMDs strong suit. The 5GHz rumour had a lot of weight behind it, maybe AMD were pushing the boat a little too far when trying to reach that milestone.
Found myself getting quite lost when reading around enthusiast forums. A lot of people are recently seeming quite unhappy with the new chips. I understand that 2months into the release, having unfinished BIOS's would be annoying. What I want to know is if the annoyance is down to purely...
They are some team group 3200 (not 8 pack) and I only ever managed 2933 with ALOT of work. They are A-die and I don't have high hopes for getting close to 3600. I will try before I buy anything else but may also try really low speed with tight timings, as we saw in the Linus video last week.
Looking to upgrade my 1600 to a 3700X to put into my x370 Taichi, to start with at least. I'm hoping for a cheap little perf gain until the next chips arrive where I may do a full upgrade.
Questions:
Which AGESA version am I looking at for the best plug and play? I was keeping up with the...
Its not that easy with Ryzen since it has inbuilt magic that does it all for you out of the box. All variables are changed and monitored by the chip itself, depending on what is happening. If stock settings are on then yes higher than normal voltages are within operational limits, by design...
I believe Zen 3 will be more than a small refresh like Zen+. AMD will hopefully have binned enough chips for the server market to allow more of the better silicon to go into the desktop chips, coupled with some ironing out of software. I have seen some nice 3900 chips from people on Reddit that...
I cancelled mine. Was umming and ahhing for ages so I ended up flipping a coin :P At best I save myself £250 to spend on something else, at worst I can simply spend £200 on a 3600 which will actually most of what I need to do. I will do a proper upgrade when the next AMD chips come out unless I...
Still waiting on that Taichi to be delivered. Said estimated time was monday but I knew that wasn't likely.
I will very surprised if the 3800 is much, if at all, better than the 3700 for gaming. Certainly, if it does end up better, many people will be upset if they bought a 3700x already.
1.4v seems a bit higher than I would like to keep it at at this stage of the process (if I had one yet :P). I know they boost higher than that one their own but it's for very brief periods and there are a lot of things being figured out everyday. Not saying 1.4 isn't safe but until things have...
