I did say SOME of them. The two girls during the marble game was excellent IMO.

Read a bit further down that page. She was talking about the "English CC" subtitiles. In that, the Korean > English translation is taken from the dub track but also subtitles the English spoken lines as well. The "English" option under subtitles has the better Korean > English translation, but...

    Squid Game

Pretty sure it's real. It completely ruins the series, unless the viewer is only watching it to see who dies.

    Squid Game

Hugely. The dubbing is absolutely awful, and it completely takes away the great performances from some of the Korean actors. I was ready to turn it off for good after 2 episodes but then found the subtitles (weeks ago before news stories were coming out about the bad English dubbing). It would...

how did zoom become so popular?

Oh I assumed that was a given... All the video calling systems would have experienced a boost.

How reliable is this "hard to find" status they put on? Is it always rubbish? I don't want to miss out on the Shuttle but don't really want to buy it right now. I swear the Saturn V was "hard to find" 2 years ago and it's still there now.

how did zoom become so popular?

Someone mentioned it earlier but the single thing that boosted Zoom into the stratosphere is no log in/account needed and not even an app. Someone sends a link to you and you click it in a browser. Done.

Looks very nice and clean. Fair play for posting that up here and dealing with everyones comments. Be interesting to hear what happens about that £1500.

Standard of driving in the UK going downhill.

It may shock people to learn that 3 years ago, a european law was introduced that means all exterior lights must revert to the off state (with DRLs on) at the start of a new drive. They are not even allowed to be left in the auto position. You can see this appearing in cars in 2018; VW, Audi...

I agree, it’s come round so fast but S5 was December 2020! This year has flown by.

Really feel for you OP. Getting trades in is so stressful. I’d be climbing the walls tonight with this as I’m a proper worrier, so I really do feel sorry for you. I would be changing the lock barrel if he won’t return the key, and also informing the police.

I wish I knew about this painting trick before (cutting in straight lines)

Ah OK, I haven't had bleed issues but fair enough if you have and it helps. But the overall point of thread is using tape vs. free hand surely? Not this extra use of white paint to seal it?

I wish I knew about this painting trick before (cutting in straight lines)

He hasn't. The method shown has an extra step of applying a coat of white paint after painting the ceiling and applying the tape. That extra white paint is not required with good tape.

    Bathroom ceiling caved in

Not saying that the workmanship on that panelling is OK*, but silicone is used as the primary gap seal between baths/tiles in millions of bathrooms around the country, and they don't leak. *the right hand panel(s) should ovelap the cut edge to hide it, and the cuts shouldn't have been done...

If you're not using tape, woodwork before walls is far easier.

Think you misunderstood what I was saying. OP says he couldn't access wall to paint it, but can access it to apply tape. Though having just re-read the opening statement, I realise now that they can reach it at a stretch, but not reach it will enough to paint.

I wondered the same. I have no idea how the masking tape was applied if it was so difficult to access. r.e. time to mask, you get really good at it after a few jobs. I can do a metre rougly every 30 seconds ish now, fully aligned to the previous strip.

I wish I knew about this painting trick before (cutting in straight lines)

Frog tape rarely pulls off paint in my experience. I have used hundreds and hundreds of metres of it. I've had it pull a couple of small (5mm) patches of emulsion off in one room. I honestly thought everyone knew about taping edges. Life is too short for freehand cutting in!

Standard of driving in the UK going downhill.

Yup, most people (and I do mean most) don't give a **** about 30s anymore. Though recently, I was in my S2000 with a Maserati behind me, and that Maserati was happy doing 30 with me through villages but happy to do 60ish on NSLs.
