How are AMD & Nvidia such badly run companies?

I'm not even a big gamer but it really disgusts me to think that if I have to upgrade in another five years 'the' prices might just be fixed around £1000 and that's considered normality.

Or as we have seen, neither company.

We need to get Matrox properly back in the game.

How are AMD & Nvidia such badly run companies?

The first reply is also the best. :D But (also) seriously, businesses literally exist to take advantage of consumers. It's just that this experience has become more raw and pervasive in the PC building hobby in recent years because it's become too popular.

AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

Well half the reason I upgraded is for actual 4K support over 60FPS average constant, so if the game's support is good enough to stop random drops/lagging I have no complaints!

Graphics card to watch HEVC video on older i5 PC

Not allowed to say where I saw the deal, I'm afraid, due to forum rules. There is a used market for all graphics cards, yes, particularly if you can find a good deal locally on one through online classifieds. (I've never had such luck personally since I live in a more rural area!) A 1050 or...

ARCHIVE - *** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION *** - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION

Can you blame them? It's not like we can do a lot of other hobbies on the regular, especially with the local lockdowns springing up all over the place. Happy to have my health, though.

    30xx Series Founders Edition

Speculation is that it has been based on a US store restock time of 00:00 (which would translate to EST by my calculations). As I have written previously, it may be random.

The Ampere RTX 3080 Owners Thread

At this point I've just accepted that being part of the Google ecosystem for digital services as a starting point revokes any right to privacy I may have had without sandboxing so why not let a couple more companies have access to very controlled personal data.

ARCHIVE - *** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION *** - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION

I actually have a G920 but it's a right pain in the butt to set up so I don't use it often. Got my Impreza for driving kicks anyway. :P

ARCHIVE - *** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION *** - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION

At this point I should point out the majority of the games I play relate to cars and rollerblading so the controller is actually appropriate here. I do prefer good old keyboard and mouse when they are suitable.

Better sell my FE now while it still has value in preparation for Hopper.

    3080 / 3090 / 3070 Gigabyte Eagle Gaming OC & Vision Power Connector Concerns

Poor show from Gigabyte, I had placed a pre-order for the Eagle expecting a high base level of quality from an EE standpoint but I guess we don't even get that in 2020. Fortunately I was one of the lucky few to snag an FE when those came into stock last week and I have since cancelled the...

Graphics card to watch HEVC video on older i5 PC

If you must buy new, a 1050 Ti (4GB GDDR5 video RAM) can be had for as little as £118 shipped. There's an unbranded one being listed new for £90 on a popular auction site but I personally wouldn't touch it with a bargepole; fake GPUs are definitely a thing unfortunately. Please note that these...

The Ampere RTX 3080 Owners Thread

I just spotted people saying that it was back in stock on one of the main 3080 threads here that morning as I happened to be awake. Classic case of being in the right place at the right time. There was a Discord server link posted on this forum at some point but apparently the invite died...

The Ampere RTX 3080 Owners Thread

As per above comment, no, forum tipped me off. Seems like you just gotta check it yourself and check-in with people who are checking.
