So I finally updated my bios on my p5k premium motherboard and replaced the cpu with the q9650. Anyone know the bios settings to overclock it with 8gig ram?

So I've just updated my bios from version 504 to 1101 my my asus p5k premium motherboard .can anyone tell give me the exact bios settings to overclock my q6600 to 3ghz please? I've watched lots of videos but none for my motherboard .

If anyone knows of a direct link to a bios update for the asus p5k premium motherboard to run a xeon please let me know.

I have seen a q9650 for 20 so I think ill just buy that an update bios to 1101 so it will be nice and easy ;)

Looking on the asus website my motherboard doesn't support those cpu. I've heard you need a modified bios version for this?

Thanks so for 3ghz I only have to change 3 settings as above? What about the 8gig pc6400 ocz ram, how do I know what it needs to hit? What heatsink would i need?

I've looked at the overclocking but don't really understand what to settings to use exactly on my system. I may just upgrade the cpu as my system has had a lot of upgrades lately.

I've clicked on the link mine is the p5k premium motherboard black Pearl edition . And I struggled to understand it all in that link. My specs are Q6600 . 8gig ram. Windows 10. Psu 600. Was hoping I could find the exact settings somewhere to overclock to just 3ghz. Or should I just play it safe...

Yeah still going strong wi my beloved nvidia gtx970 gpu;). Was thinking of upgrading my cpu from the q6600 to the q9650? But ill need to update the bios which I'm a bit scared of doing using the Ez flash 2?
