    COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

Imagine 11 hours from Joburg to Heathrow in a mask and then 9.5 hours from Heathrow to Vancouver in a mask!!

    COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

I am currently in South Africa. It's such a shame that so many of the population are anti vax. I am triple vaccinated from Canada with my booster done in December last year. They offer anti body tests here for a cheap price so I just thought why not do it to see if I am still protected. I had...

    What watch do you wear?

I am thinking about buying this watch. Owner says it's in okay condition and been serviced but I wouldn't know how to even check for that. Just wondered if the price was right at £240 and whether there was anything special to look out for when buying it, any hidden issues etc. Also would there...

Today's UK Government Farce - Passports

This is the luck of the draw over here, I applied at the same time for my ID card and haven't received that. This was almost 2 weeks ago and still waiting. Also people are waiting for months/years for their driving licenses as South Africa only had one machine to print them and it broke down...

Today's UK Government Farce - Passports

I know this is slightly off topic but thought it was interesting. I was born in South Africa and moved away when I was 20. I lost my South African citizenship/passport as I didn't get permission before getting my UK passport. I'm now 36 and decided I would like to get my South African...

*The Official PlayStation 5 (PS5) Thread*

I would really appreciate a code as well. It's for my brother in law who is desperate for a PS5, he is the biggest gamer I know and the biggest PlayStation fanboy. He has been trying for over a year to get one but always seems to miss out.

    What watch do you wear?

Just bought a King Seiko. Absolutely love it even though the dream would be a grand Seiko. https://ibb.co/BrrJszL

    Road Tripping in the USA!

Like Fox says the limited mileage could be an issue, don't underestimate the distances over here. To a Canadian 1000km is a relatively short trip

    Road Tripping in the USA!

Phone plans are very expensive over here in Canada and also the cheaper plans are capped at 3g speeds. The max I can get is 120kbps. It feels like going back 15 years in internet terms and everything takes ages to load. I also use my O2 SIM card from England which is also capped at 3g speeds...

    Life in South Africa...

As a South African this situation makes me so sad. I would love to have the South Africa back from my youth. Yes there were aweful things happening but the country had an energy that I haven't felt anywhere else around the world. The country could be so great if Apartheid could stop being blamed...

    Road Tripping in the USA!

It's an amazing place, it was our favourite holiday ever and we would go back year after year if we could. As we have insurance, car and are already over here we thought it would be good to do the ultimate 3 month trip.

    Road Tripping in the USA!

Aren't all the cars over there massively overpowered? The sedan we rented would have had a 2l engine max in the UK, ours had a 4l or something crazy. Our minivan we have has a 3.8l, which is totally unnecessary.

    Road Tripping in the USA!

This is what I thought deep down but didn't want to think of the reality of it. Maybe it's best kept for when we have more of a budget in the future. Just seems a shame as we have the car

    Road Tripping in the USA!

Due to Covid it will probably have to be next year that we do our budget USA road trip. I'm just wondering how realistic it even is to do a budget roadtrip over there. We spent three weeks 2 years ago going San Francisco-Pacific Highway- Los Angeles- Yosemite- San Francisco. Overall it cost...

    Spec me an LED Torch

I actually have both torches. I prefer the S21A, it's smaller, cheaper and a better colour tint in my opinion. It's not as bright as the Asteolux though.

Help choosing a car to live in while traveling in Canada

I was going to go for a Dodge Grand Caravan but couldn't find a decent one in the short amount of time we had. I went for a Kia Sedona in the end. They seem to hold their value more unfortunately so I had to spend more for less. Even without traction control it seems okay in the tiny bit of snow...

Help choosing a car to live in while traveling in Canada

Thanks for that. Good to hear other opinions. The minivans I have looked into are the best selling with cheap to repair parts. That VW has the same 4litre engine as the grand caravan and Chrysler town and country as they are all the same car. The other options like Pontiac Montana and Chevrolet...

Help choosing a car to live in while traveling in Canada

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1490818741108822/ We are interested in that one. It's pretty grotty inside and damaged on the panel but we thought we may be able to get it for cheaper due to this. I am wondering what the stickers on the windows are? Think it's been bought from an...
