Most our NS oil goes to export, it’s the wrong grade.
Also it’s a global commodity, so it’s set by the free market. So short of Nationalising the entire energy sector (extraction, refinement, generation and supply) we pay the market rate.
We pay less than a good chunck of Europe
Finally got to take my Ruger Precision (6.5 Creedmore) to proper ranges at Bisley. 300 yards was a joke as I could decided where in the V i wanted it. 1000 yards was also easy. All ranges were almost bang on the ballistic calculator elevations and I was in the bull within 2 shots.
This is what we have done.
First 5 year fixed at 5%
Second 5 year fixed at 2.5% kept payment the same
Would have paid it all off in the next 3 years as we kept payments constantly + overpayment.
However decided to buy a much bigger house.
Fixed a year ago (with house Move) at 1.34% keeping...
The UK section 1 M1 are manufactured as strightpull as a can’t take a section 5 firearm and stop it being section 5. So they have to be made as new with no potential of ever becoming semi auto or being semi auto in the last.
In normal time 30-06 is easy to fine and easy to load for. However the...
I have a PHEV but I drive a lot and put around 160KWh in it per month. So almost 2000KWh per year. Real house usage is around 4400KWh, still high but I have a number of always on servers that I will start switching off a night soon if idle.
Got the email today and it’s also on my account ready to be accepted. Although due to the solar installation this week I will probably pick a more expensive tariff on paper but with a much lower standing charge.
British Gas “HomeEnergy Secure May 2023”.
carbon neutral gas and 100% renewable electric.
I was expecting the cap to increase in October and then again in April.
I am completely perplexed, everyone has been saying “don’t fix, don’t fix” but a 10% increase is a fraction of that I was...
this is likely to change in the future as environmental levies are moved off electric to gas.
but this is one of the reasons heat-pumps are not gaining traction. You need circa 500% efficiency to break even.
So now very confused, I have just been offered the below On 24 month fixed. Yes the standing charge is high but way lower than I was expecting.
now second guessing banging solar panels on the roof.
Have I missed something? This is way lower than the cap. It’s only around a 10% increase.
this is the reason for the battery. During the day my house used 250-500w with spikes over this around lunch and dinner or when we do washing / tumbling.
even in the winter my array will probably run the house base load and the battery charger overnight will cover the rest.
depends how much of what you generate you lose to the grid as you only get 4p for it.
Im getting around 4.5kw with an 8kwh battery installed for around £8.2K. Payback is around 8 years at new cap prices.
In addition to this I will be able to charge the battery at 7p / kWh when solar won’t...
this is a very short term game that your provider will be easily to work out. Bills are going up again in October then agin in April then…. How much are you going to forward load your reading?
If a smart meter helps you manage your usage and “exploit” (us as intended) smart tariff then you...
