What retro things have you done today?

I've been messing about with my AWE32 the past couple of days primarily with its Digital output. Now the AWE32 was never a noisy card when using the Line Out but I always thought about its Digital output but never really looked at getting sound of it. Also, I would always go with General Midi as...

I finally finished uploading all of the Transport Tycoon Deluxe recordings off the Pianobox. The game has a phenomenal soundtrack and I really enjoyed recording and listening to each individual track. Next on my recordings list is Doom 2 and Rise Of The Triad. Here is the playlist for Transport...

Do you know what sound chip is in your laptop? For midi you could use a software based Synth. Yamaha have a software based XG synth which will work in Win 98 (DOS windowed mode for DOS games). Check this thread out on Vogons...

Its a relatively modern module. I think its know as an S-Engine module which uses a Dream SAM synthesizer. This one I have is both USB and just standard DIN Midi connection. It works fine in Windows 10 just using a USB cable and I use Falcosoft Midi player to play midi files on it. It also works...

Yeah it only appears to be that one note!? Strange. I've made a play list for TTDLX and I'm beginning to upload more Tracks to it. Will probably record DOOM next after uploading finishing TTDLX. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8qJAXPup4AYjJ4lAyTuBJ1kEWP7yr8qj

It was limited to 30 people per session so you arn't all crammed in and had plenety of opportunities to get on the games. Everything is there to be handeled/touched and...

Its a Software Synthesizer that mimics the Soundcanvas released by Roland. Its not a hardware module. I just saw it on ebay, put the only bid in and won. No magic tricks or anything :D

I've not messed with any Retro gear since moving house. Most of it is packed away, but I got the itch to mess with something, so have started working on a little P3 MATX tower. Its got a Coppermine 1.1ghz installed. I'm going to add a GF3 Ti 500 to it, an Audigy 2ZS and a Vortex 2 card. Still a...
