Yep, I was overthinking it! Just after posting I realised I could just run optical out from my TV, job done :)

So I just realised there's no optical out on the Series X which is a tad annoying (no idea how I missed that haha) as I still use my ancient Logitech Z-5500. I assume an HDMI / Optical splitter would work OK? I just guess it would need to support 4k60 - anyone else in this situation?

The Elite series 2 doesn't have a removable battery but I've always just used a play and charge kit in the standard controllers. It does save having to buy a new controller if the internal battery dies, or dismantling it and replacing it yourself which I had to do on an old Playstation controller.

I never even made it on to the Game website, login queue for an hour from 7:50 and then the site was dead!

The series 2 only came out this year, series 3 won't be for some time.

I left my Game queue going in another tab, it finally let me in after an hour and am redirected to a 'Site closed for maintenance' page lol Glad I got my orders in elsewhere!

Yep, myself and my son - didn't crash at all in SP but MP it just randomly hard locks the Xbox then powers itself off. Not even going to bother trying MP again until that's fixed.
