Personally, I would get one. As Turbo-G says, they are cheap enough. Any update, if indeed there is one, is unlikely to be significant.

If the cold is affecting it then it is a battery issue. They discharge more quickly when it is cold.
I think it was the Bluetooth. I've switched it off and the performance has improved considerably. Or.. I am just kidding myself and it's on the blink!
