[SPEC ME] Flux paste for electronics / SMD stuff, that isn't too expensive.

I've ended up getting some Mechanic brand flux. I've only got the solder that came with the iron at the moment. It's Sn63Pb37 solid core. In regards to plumbing / brazing flux... everything I've read has said that it's more acidic and shouldn't be used for electronics work as it can cause...

[SPEC ME] Flux paste for electronics / SMD stuff, that isn't too expensive.

TL;DR I'm after some flux paste for use with electronics. I'd prefer something that's easy to work with / doesn't require scraping and diluting with IPA, and if possible... I'd like to keep it under £5. And the cherry on the cake would be not having to wait a month for it to come from China...

    Wholewheat spaghetti

I still prefer regular pasta but wholemeal spaghetti with onions, peppers, sweetcorn, tinned tuna and green pesto is tasty, healthy and quick to make.

    Proxmox

The answer to that really depends on how you'll be using the data and how much RAM you have but the general rule of thumb is that you shouldn't bother with or might not see much beneift from an L2ARC if you have less than 64GB of RAM. ZFS caches data in the "ARC", which is stored in RAM. When...

    180mm Dust filters

DEMCiflex has a 180x540mm fan filter specifically for the FT02 on their website but finding one for sale might not be easy. The downside is that I'm pretty sure it goes on top of the fans rather than beneath them. If you can get your hands on some mesh, it might be possible to cut away the mesh...

    A problem with bacon

I find Spoilt Pig to be much less salty than the supermarket own brand stuff. Whether it's low enough in salt for your tastes is another matter but it might be worth a try.

Looking for a model / toy car for my nephew.

My brother recently wrote off his car and had it replaced with a silver 2012 Honda Civic hatchback. My nephew, whose not even two yet, is obsessed with his daddies new car. I haven't seen the little monkey in a couple of weeks because of the lockdown. So when I see him next, I'd love to give...

    I feel dirty....

I just watched an episode of M*A*S*H which had a plot involing the Doctors trying to save a talented chef, who didn't know a butt from barrel, from going back to the front line. He cooked them Spam Parmigiana and I am not ashamed to admit that it sounds delicious to me.

Simple way to make Bolognese Sauce

There's a guy on youtube called Adam Ragusea who does a great, simply bolognese that I use from time to time - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5WR-K0zJYs It's by no means an authentic, Italian style bolognese and whilst it's nice for what it is, I made several changes when I cooked it a second...

    Base ingredients for asian food?

There's a range of frozen Garlic and Ginger by Cofresh. Each pack is 400g and it's frozen in 20g chunks... which is about a level tablespoon I believe. They're no substitute for fresh garlic and ginger but if you're gonna be freezing them anyway, there's no difference in taste as the freezing...

And just like that, the threads back to the subject of small packages. Sorry... I couldn't resist.

How much should I spend on a pfSense home server?

    1. Does the five ethernet ports include the WAN port? 2. Do you need four gateways + WAN or would WAN + LAN + a switch do? pfSense's WiFi isn't the best, so I'd recommend a separate AP such as a UniFi... and not that I'm advocating going the VM route but if you did, you could (and should) run...

    Planting potatoes worth it?

Growing from supermarket, or any other none SPCS certified source can be a potentially disastrous idea (if potatoes are farmed in your area) as store bought potatoes and SPCS certified seed potatoes have different standards and as such, there’s the risk of introducing all manner of diseases...

Any catches with the GIgabyte GA-AX370-Gaming 5?

Am I missing somthing... the board has dual NICs (one of which is Intel), dual audio codecs, dual BIOS chips, a PS/2 connector, reinforced PCI slots, 6+2 SATA ports (8 in total, two of which are SATA Express), plenty of fan headers etc. etc... and all for £130. If I was to list what I'd want in...

    MLB coming to London!

I used to watch it all the time back when it was on Channel 5... JG (the Gould Fish) and JC, Mike Carlson, Erik the producer. I started watching because I had trouble sleeping and Baseball was boring and was sure to put me to sleep, or so I thought. Then I carried on watching, mainly due to the...

[SPEC ME] My mom wants a phone with the best camera on a £250 to 300 budget.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. After plenty of discussion and weighing up the pros and cons of the G6 Plus vs the S7, the Honor 9 a few other possibilities, we've decided to stick with the G6 Plus for a number of reasons. Although it must be said that it really is nip an tuck between...

[SPEC ME] My mom wants a phone with the best camera on a £250 to 300 budget.

My mom wants a phone primarily to take pictures of grand children an dogs. She's asked me to find one with the best camera for under £250. I'm gonna chip in toward it so that budget could squeak into the low 300's if it makes a difference. The camera is the top priority and given that dogs and...

Any better 24 port switches than the ES-24-LITE for £180 or less?

Thanks for the recommendation. I've read that several times and I looked and numerous retailers but could never find it new, for less that £270... that is until just now (it's annoying how that happens, eh?). I've found a new 1920 for £215. I would be willing to pay that if it's really worth...

Any better 24 port switches than the ES-24-LITE for £180 or less?

I'm looking to get a 24 port gigabit switch that'll give me some room to grow, both in terms of devices and networking knowledge. I have a few basic requirements. 24 ports (give or take). fanless. under £200 (but I would go a smidge over if it really gains me something). New (as I warranty is...
