    Too much dust!

My original S340 case always used to get quite dusty, but my brothers tempered glass version was super clean after 6 months use. Only real difference was he had a double fan AIO water cooler on the front of his one, I had a single fan AIO water cooler on the rear of mine. Not sure how this...

Asus Rog Swift PG278Q - power supply broken, will this one work...

Thanks for your reply/help. I tried to reduce the power draw of the monitor as much as I can by reducing the brightness and turning off the flashy glowing red base. It seems to be alright for now, and was just a stop gap until I get paid so hopefully holds out at least until Christmas is over!

*** Rocket League *** Car Football

There is a good website that offers trading but I can't remember the name (try google). People put up what items they have and what they want in return. If they only want chests you can pick up some keys/items from chests and car models without paying a penny. I traded all the items I currently...

Corsair cx600 will run my build?

It will be fine. I ran my 4790K @ 4.5Ghz with an overclocked 290X/GTX980 for 2 years with no issues on my Seasonic 550w PSU, still using same power supply today with 6700k @4.7Ghz and a GTX1060. First link I found searching google for 1070 power draw showed 300 odd watts maximum system power...

Oh Come On :( gtx 1050 2GB I OC and got trash

FPS gains are entirely dependant on the game... You could net 10 FPS in one title that's already running at 100 FPS, then 3 FPS in a title that's running at 30 FPS. Free performance is free performance but most of the time don't expect miracles.

Adding an active subwoofer to Edifier 1600T 2.0 setup?

It's literally for my PC in the dining room which I also listen to music on. Just noticing how even the cheapo £30 2.1 system on my wife's PC puts out better bass than my Edifier speaker, and it made me look into adding a sub to get some low notes! I know adding a car sub would require a 12v...

Adding an active subwoofer to Edifier 1600T 2.0 setup?

I have a Xonar DGX and some Edifier 2.0 1600T speakers (few years old tbh), but they're still pretty decent but they really lack low end punch. I got £100 max to spare on a subwoofer, anyone know what I should be looking for and how I can link it so the volume is controlled through one place...

    960 -> 1060 or 480 for Steam Streaming performance?

Seems from the benchmarks posted where the RX 480 beats the 1060, it's so minimal it's irrelevant, and there's still enough games that have the 1060 ahead. Both of these can pretty much achieve 60 fps+ at 1080 resolution in 'most' top games. I've said it before but my 1060 can play games...

    RX 480 or Fury ?

I imagine an RX480 is slightly faster than a 290X on the latest drivers now, especially at stock speeds. The DX12 performance should also be better surely? Fury is the next level up, but limited to 4GB ram.

Time Spy Standard DX 12 Bench.

My i7 4790k was scoring 4.9k points last time I benched, but dropped 400 points in my last score above, although my overall score was higher. No idea why.... EDIT: Re-ran the test with everything closed in the background, and also bumped my memory up another 50Mhz. Anyway here's my new new...

    NVIDIA Colours

If connected by HDMI you need to change one of the settings in the Nvidia control panel thing to 'full' or the colours have no depth and look washed out. I can't remember the option though as I'm not by my PC. Can never tell much difference between either brand though in terms of picture quality.

    The GPU war is over.

I have personally owned a lot of cards both AMD and Nvidia, including 7950, GTX760, 290, 290X 8GB, 970, 980, RX480 and 1060 all overclocked... If you played with any of them without a frame rate monitor you probably wouldn't noticed a huge difference in any of them. One thing for sure though...

980 or 1060 - which to keep and which to sell?

Those two games above are no real indication of the overall performance gain of being with Nvidia (980 or 1060 against the RX480). Nvidia is still faster in many more games, and all mentioned cards offer more than enough for 1080p gaming with near max settings give or take.

    Replacement Advice on R9 290X

Barely anything in it, I've had both can't tell the difference and also depends on the game. Getting a used 980 would be the best value though, they go for pretty cheap like £150? And will be faster than a 290X in most things. If you can't use the members market then the AV Forums is also...

    RX480 v GTX 1060 Help

480X = hotter, slightly inferior DX11 performance, generally poor at overclocking, but has 2GB extra ram and is faster in some DX12 games. Will possibly improve with age and better drivers (nobody knows for sure). 1060 = Very cool so generally quieter, good DX11 performance, still wins in some...

    i3 6100 not good enough for BF1

I guess it would take a long time for a chip to decline, I've benchmarked 3/4 year old CPU's inthe past and they always scored the same as the initial reviews on their release. By the time a CPU is declining in performance (if at all), it would probably be long past it's proper use anyway.

How long would you wait for a yet to be released GPU?

If it was something I Knew I could afford and was a significant performance upgrade from anything currently available then maybe 2/3 months, but I'm pretty impatient with most things so would likely just buy what I could at the time.
