Want to buy a bar so I can do some of these at home. Will probably start at 30kg and go from there.
My question is, do I need a decent quality (bearings) Olympic bar for this? I know they are recommended for Olympic style lifts, which this has...
Think I've found the answer, just comes down to thermal conductivity * thickness.
The thermal stuff is 0.044W/mK according to this
https://www.rockwool.com/uk/products-and-applications/product-overview/trade-insulation-range/thermal-insulation-roll-en-gb/
And the sound insulation stuff I have...
Hi,
Having a room replastered including external walls, eaves (on rafter line) and ceiling (loft above). It's an old house so doing it in lime, with an experienced plasterer.
My only quibble is he's bought rockwool sound insulation (rather than thermal) and plans to use it for the eaves and...
Those first few weeks are so hard if feeding is tough, both of our first two dropped a lot. Totally know the feeling of getting away from the hospital, hope it's all plainer sailing from now on, good luck.
It's definitely a splurge for me, spending more than £100 on a bottle is a big mental barrier and not one I want to cross to often.
I haven't had Talisker 10 for about 5 years now, but the conventional wisdom is that it beats out anything else in their core range except maybe the 18, and even...
Almost every peated malt improves a lot between first pour and halfway. If you ever try Kilkerran Heavily Peated, it's a 6/10 to start and a 9/10 once you get to halfway. For the first 5 or so pours you want to give it 10 minutes in the glass before touching it.
I just pulled the trigger on...
I'm after a new ratchet screwdriver, my Wickes one is slowly dying a death.
Quite like the Wera kraftform ones, but I want one that has bits inside it and also ratchets.
The only one I can find they have that has both those features is this one...
This has obviously been done in reaction to the boom of recent years. Can't help but wonder if the whisky market might be back into a very quiet period by the time they've managed to age anything.
There are enough interesting non-mega corp distilleries for me to not be too fussed about...
Surely a dishwasher is also going to accelerate the breakdown of non stick coatings?
I thought non stick pans were now widely seen as a bad thing due to the fact that they never last, and you're leeching some potentially really bad stuff into your food. I don't think I'll ever buy one again.
Went for Arran Port cask finish and regretting it. Way too sweet and not very interesting. Probably would appreciate it more if it wasn't following a peat monster.
Just boshing a PC10 for the first time now. Was it the standard Longrow peated you were referring to? I would agree the PC is a cut above, even though I loved my Longrow, especially at £30 a bottle. The PC10 was £8.30 for a pour though, so a tad pricey.
Eyeing up a Talisker 18 or Glenfarclas...
Look out for Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength or Lore next. Might not be able to find either in the supermarket, but both are very good at a reasonable price point. The former is like the normal 10 on steroids with a massive flavour profile, and the Lore is more complex and interesting with some much...
Some gusty winds again tonight. Seems like only since I moved into a house where the neighbours have annoying windchimes have we had gusting wind at least once a week.
Great post @fez I echo a lot of that. Our 3rd was born last week, and we had nightmares with feeding for both of the first 2 and ended up on almost solely formula from quite early on. But they are good specimens now aged 3 and 5, I find it hardly credible that breast can really be that much...
