Sorry for the late reply. You have probably made up your mind and purchased something by now.
I have the MSI prestige X570. Brought it on release to go with a 3900x.
Main reason was for the 10gb ethernet built in as I got a asus add in card for my unraid server and a fast buffer drive so...
As a supervisor in logistics I can tell you it is due to social distancing guide lines and track and tracing who people come in contact with at work in the case of a outbreak, Having to limit the max amount of people using facilities such as canteen and toilets at the same time. It has increased...
Weird as I got a Radeon 7 on luanch day for rrp so did my friend from work both from OCUK. This release is a lot worse than the R7 release.
Seeing the prices listed for the cards that OP referenced I am feeling less upset about the £799 I paid for the saphhire 6800xt Nitro+ I manage to get hold...
Gave my nephew my old Radeon 7 for a Christmas present. Cant believe they are being listed at £600+ on the bay. Not fussed about the money I would get from selling it as I would not want the hassle being messed around by selling and my nephew is happy.
I still have no shipping notice for the 3 X 3 packs of black 120mm UNI's I ordered on Saturday when it said there was 20+ in stock showing. A bit concerned if they oversold the stock for these and I am going to have to wait a indefinite period while OCUK have £225 of my money. Hope its just down...
Hi Alex.
Seems the latest Bios has been fully optimised for the newer cpu's and has sorted out your problems. AMD has stated that these chips run hot and its nothing to be concerned about.
Seems people are having great results using the new curve Optimizer feature to reduce temps.
@Robbie_G
Any chance you can check order OC4178300 I ordered 3 packs of 3 fans when it was showing 20+ in stock. Payment was taken on the 9th but I have yet to have any notification they have been shipped.
Thanks in advance.
Yeah if I had got a reference on launch Day I would probably of gone back to watercooling. Now I will stick with the AIO I have on the CPU but replace my 3900 with a 5900 when they are in stock at £550 or less.
Nice looking build. Just a quick question if you can help?, The PCI extender you have is it gen 4. Reason I ask is I am planning a build and I want a vertical GPU but with SAM being a feuture of X570 boards with this gen ryzens allong with the 6XXX series cards surely its a potential performance...
Nah as I ordered one but in reality I would have been happy getting the reference at launch price. I work Shifts and it seems this year tech launches have all fallen on the wrong day and times for me to have any chance of grabbing what I want. I spend most of my workday outside and being too busy...
After missing out on the XFX Merc yesterday I have just managed to order a Sapphire RX 6800 XT Nitro+ from a competitor.
They are showing stock for this and the Red Devil
Tried to get one aswell but no Joy. Really want to get a new card for Cyberpunk 2077.
Been on AMD cards for the last 3 generations as I do not like NVidia's buisness practice's but the 3080 is tempting then after what they did with hardware unboxed I decided no I will not give them my money.
Tempted to buy the 5900X and the 6900XT as a christmas present to myself and then give my nephew the 3900X and Radeon 7 I currently have as a christmas present as it would be a good upgrade for the 2600 and RX580 he currently has. Will depend on bench marks. I game at 4k. May Just settle for the...
Very intresting thanks for posting. Bit at the end about AMD reps showing off a card that competes with the uncut down Ampere proffesional cards at a lower TDP. If that is true then there is hope of a competetive higher end gaming card this time around.
Been caught in the AMD hype train before so at least this time they are not not making wild claims like in the past and staying quite.
I am looking to replace my Radeon 7. I have owned cards from both companies over the years and had good and bad experience with both. I have been building my own...
