I ask this question from a purely hypothetical one. My question/query is this..
Let's say a HDD company started to offer 8 or even 10 year warranties with their products. (or even longer)
Would people return more faulty drives than before?
Have they even done any research into this and...
Thank you guys. Sorry for dumbing you down with this thread but networking has always been my weak point. (as far as computing goes)
appreciate the help. :)
Edit: Sorry Robbiec053 i missed your post some how. Yes i meant RJ45 (told you i knew naff all about networking) Thanks. :)
@NeoVo I take it an "unmanaged switch" will be more easier to use. I'll take a look for one. Thank you.
Edit: I noticed on one of the user reviews on the link Vampyre gave. It's says... "Plug in the cable from your router (if your using it to extend the amount of ports) and then plug an extra 4...
Brilliant! Thank you Vampyre.
Just the job. I knew it was just a matter of knowing the name of the thing i needed. Now i know my search of google should have been for "Desktop Switch" heh.
Thanks once again. Will order the one you linked me to. :)
I'm usually quite good at finding a solution to a problem but i'm having trouble with this one..
Is there a device (extension box/lead?) that will allow me to hard-wire to my Sky router more than 4 internet connections? (RJ11)
I know most use wifi but my connections are taken up with...
I owned the YAS-101 (£130) and then the YHT-S401 (£300) Both of which were terrible. I mean really bad. Yes compared to the basic speakers built into a flat panel TV both are an improvement (although the 101 only minimally over my 2012 Pany) They both have things like "uni volume" and other...
"You need to be covered by a valid TV Licence if you watch or record TV as it's being broadcast. This includes the use of devices such as a computer, laptop, mobile phone or DVD/video recorder."
You need a licence even if you only have internet access and a laptop i'm afraid. Even owning a...
Agree with Psycho Sonny.
Although Smart TV's really haven't been that "Smart" until the last year or so. Now all the main companies are realising the importance of putting some effort into their TV's software. They really are improving. (even quad core cpu's being used now)
I would even dare...
Had a phone call from sky asking how my services with them are and it so happened that i wasn't in a great mood with them as they have changed their email client over to Yahoo and i mentioned i no longer can send group emails. they were apologetic and they offered me a free wireless connector...
The PC to TV route negates any Calibration you may carry out on your TV. Because of the reasons i pointed out and all the software settings others have talked about. I had my TV professionally calibrated and So would need a whole other calibration and cost on a seperate HDMI input for this (not...
More misinformation for this thread *sigh*
Sorry. Apart from your first sentence i can't understand the rest. Do you mean 3D becoming mainstream? because if that's what you mean then no it won't be mainstream for TV transmissions and isn't really what anybody is aiming towards.
4K will...
I know what your saying ZG002 but i do quite like watching the odd 3D film myself. I'm also quite happy with the balance between 2D and 3D releases at the moment both cinema and BluRay. I wouldn't want to start seeing a higher % released in 3D though. It seems OK right now. As long as people...
My Panasonic ST50 plays all the mkv files i have tried on it and has very quick response time in regards to scrolling through large drives/libraries I used it without a problem alongside Mezzmo for around 6 months before i decided i wanted to have my library displayed in something a bit more...
24" monitors displaying 4k res have been demo'd already and the picture is no less stunning than on a 84" screen. It's a myth that you will need 50+ inch screens to see the benefits of 4k.
There seems to be an awful lot of other disinformation in this thread. Mainly by those that (i suspect)...
Hope you didn't pay more than today's offer on OCUK. The amount of times I have ordered something and see it on offer with OCUK the next day or week lost count.
If you do buy from Richer Sounds as you are thinking of then I would recommend their in house warranty. You buy the TV and you can then go back to them when your 12 month standard warranty is about to expire. Pay 10% of your TV's price at sale and you are fully covered for another 5 years. Their...
Just to have a look I put those 2 images al4x posted on a usb stick and tried them on my Panasonic ST50. Have to say I was rather mesmerized by the stars and they do look staggeringly good with the lights down low. So much so i'm using them as sub menu backgrounds on my Dune player now. Cheers al4x
