    Radeon 6900 XT

Nobody thought there'd ever be a worse launch than Ampere. Then Zen 3 happened. Nobody thought there'd ever be a worse launch than Zen 3. Then 6800/XT happened. Everybody then expected 6900XT to be even worse than 6800/XT ... and it was - much worse. So much worse.

    Radeon 6900 XT

YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BUY UNLESS YOU'RE BOTTING. You have to be able to spoof your HWID as the site will block you. Unless you're insanely lucky and just get through without mashing on first try. This is the last time I'll try ordering something direct from AMD, as long as they're using...

    Radeon 6900 XT

I should think the chances of someone not using bots actually getting anything from AMD's EU site today was less than 1/1000.

    Radeon 6900 XT

I'm done. That's 44 times going through PayPal (1 time AMD site successfully taking it to confirmation stage - then blocking me from the server when I confirm). It's just not worth the time and effort. I'll probably sell my Radeon VII whilst it's still worth more than I paid, and use a Fury...

    Radeon 6900 XT

Stock of 6900XT is back up again .. but of course you can't get to checkout even if it goes in your basket (now trying from another computer) ... I assume the server temporarily HWID banned me on the other one.

    Radeon 6900 XT

On my 32nd try of going through Paypal, the AMD site recognised it and took me to confirm order and Captcha, which I duly did ... it went to Access Denied - i.e. the server blocked me. Which it's still doing ... IP change doesn't work. Needless to say I wasn't botting ... the server blocks you...

List of 68/69xx AIB cards utilising reference PCB.

Asrock 6800XT Sub Zero may be a good option. Full ref, binned. SRP $20 more than ref ($649). Of course, getting one, let alone getting one near SRP is likely to be almost impossible ...

AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

There was never going to be enough capacity for all 3. I suspect the Huawei situation may have further bu%%ered things - they will have been rushing to fulfil orders before the cut off date, impacting other customers. The slack won't be reigned in until probably Q2 next year. Also bear in...

AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

Take a look at Zen 3 ... this is even worse.

AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

I spoke to one of the large Dutch retailers today .. they now doubt if their ref orders placed pre-launch will ever be filled. They aren't expecting more than a couple of dozen AIB cards before the end of January at earliest. AMD have really outdone themselves this time.

List of 68/69xx AIB cards utilising reference PCB.

Also should be stated that XFX / PowerColor / Sapphire have done custom PCBs with identical layout of major components, before, so they're compatible with ref waterblocks.

List of 68/69xx AIB cards utilising reference PCB.

The Red Dragon doesn't look any different to me. I may be wrong though. The Red Devil clearly uses a larger, higher spec PCB. I doubt if you could call either the Strix or TUF PCBs from ASUS higher spec than ref ... probably lower.

List of 68/69xx AIB cards utilising reference PCB.

Powercolor and Sapphire are usually a mix ... their halo product being custom PCB, and ones below ref. Seems like it may be that way re: Powercolor - Red Devil (top card) vs Red Dragon (one below). Others seem inconclusive. Though ASUS, surprising nobody, seem to be going custom for...

List of 68/69xx AIB cards utilising reference PCB.

Reserved. ASUS. Strix - custom shorter PCB. X Both TUF - custom shorter PCB. X AsRock. 6800 XT Sub Zero. Binned, full ref. ✓ Others unclear. Probably not ref PCB. Biostar. No AIB models yet. Only full ref. Gigabyte. Unclear. MSI. Unclear. Powecolor. Red Devil - custom PCB. X Red...

List of 68/69xx AIB cards utilising reference PCB.

Since way more AMD AIB cards tend to use the reference PCB, even if they're heavily binned and use upgraded heatsinks or fans, I thought this would be useful. Especially since, because of this, few if any waterblocks for non-reference PCBs are likely. I'll add any cards in second post, when...

The thread which sometimes talks about RDNA2

AMD DE cancelled my 6800XT order and refunded the Paypal transaction. No message, no excuse. I had my order confirmed 2 minutes after it went live. Cards were up for another 2-3 minutes afterwards. I emailed asking for an explanation and they said something about not being able to confirm my...

The thread which sometimes talks about RDNA2

To me, unless you REALLY want RT performance, the 6800XT (or 6800) are absolute no brainers over the whole Ampere range. Even in the few games where they're 'slower', 1% lows tend to be much better than the 3070 and 3080 (and in some cases 3090). Frame times are an absolute mess on Ampere...
