I play on a 65" 4k TV and in some games the AA @4k makes little difference but in others it's very noticeable. I wouldn't say it's cut and dry if its needed or not to get the best IQ. That said it's the first thing I kill if I need more fps at 4k.

I was doing something similar before I got my 2300w so that I could send 4k60 to the TV. Only downside is that the audio gets compressed on optical rather than pcm on hmdi. IO'm sure the difference is small but it still made me sad I wasn't getting the best out of everything.

Just to add, I have both vive and rift, whilst I use the vive for the majority of applications, Pcars is def one that works a lot better on the Rift.

Is 2160p 60hz 4:4:4 a limitation of the hdmi standard though ? I've recently had some fun finding out that HDMI wires adont work at that spec if theya re longer than 7m. Shorter wire the better it seems at this res.
