The only difference is that the I7 comes with hyper threading, so has the ability to run 8 threads of four physical processor cores.

This. It saves time & is still very quick. My O/S takes only seconds to boot up & login to the desktop & everything is usable straight away.

You may need to disable SRT using the Intel storage manager before partitioning the SSD. Mine doesn't show up in Disk Management while SRT is active.

Does it have the latest service pack version included on the cd?

You have to set the bios to UEFI boot or something & then put the windows dvd in so it starts in uefi mode or something - I can't fully remember :confused:

Perhaps the monitor refresh rate is limiting you?
