Insurance companies watch what addresses you 'try' on compare sites

Yep, Admiral did this to me twice. Once I just had a series of irritating phone calls to sort it (culminated in me asking them if they'd like to charge me for insurance on the 10 different cars I'd got quotes on and I think they saw sense), the second time I did a chargeback as they'd already...

    how awful are astrix units?

 To expand a little as I think a single emoticon post is maybe somewhat lacking in substance, you can buy a decent PSU for very slightly more, so I don't know why you would bother with "cheap rubbish". To name but two options, OcUK have a couple of B-Grade Superflower 350Ws for...

Corsair Force Series LS firmware S9FM02.0 update.

Yes, it'll leave the drive totally empty. You wouldn't need to reinstall Windows after the update, just take an image of the drive beforehand, then restore this, see below. I use Macrium Reflect. Once installed, it'll prompt you to create a rescue disk - this is a CD that you can boot...

    Blackberry Priv

Thanks both - sounds good for Android. I get a full day of heavy use from my Passport, 2 days of normal use, and 3-4 days of light use currently, so that's not as much of a step down as I was afraid of. I think I need to try one out in person before I decide to take the plunge.

How do you find the battery life? Apologies if this is mentioned in the thread already.

    Blackberry Priv

Thanks for the info, and I probably shouldn't be a snob with regards to the Passport - there are few enough Blackberry users without discounting Z10 etc users :) Very useful info and it gives me some food for thought. I got my Passport rather cheaply from the MM here, and haven't bought a high...

    Blackberry Priv

Any Passport owners made the move to a Priv and have any positive/negative opinions on the switch? I've been very happy with my Passport but development seems to have basically stopped, leaving me with a few bugs which I'm doubtful will ever be fixed, plus various app issues makes me think maybe...

    ***There are jobs here***

Got a fair few jobs going at my place at the minute... Various IT roles in service desk etc, DBA, QA, Security Operations, Software Dev, Database Dev, MI, Application/SQL Support, and some sales roles - not keyword spam :p just a lot of different roles available. Company is in Stoke, approx...

Try running sudo apt-get install lib32-glibc lib32-glib2 in a terminal window first, if you still can't get work then you've exhausted my very small amount of knowledge. I have Ubuntu Desktop 14.04.5 LTS x64 crunching quite happily out of the box as does Ba so maybe go with that if you can't...

What distro are you running? Take a look at B1ng's post above, you may need the 32-bit libc/glibc libraries: Try installing the lib32-glibc and lib32-glib2 libraries, depending what flavour of Linux you're running the commands will be different but for example, "sudo apt-get install...

Hmm, interesting, so maybe it is a libraries issue after all...odd as I would've expected it to throw a (more visible) wobbly rather than just not fetch work. The 32-bit libc libraries mentioned there ring a bell, fairly sure I've had to do that for another project in the past, but in that case...

It is a bit tight in there, you're right, I remember removing the heatsinks to swap in hex cores when I first got it and a certain amount of cursing and bloodshed ensued.

My L5639s run about 66-68C, but they're (obviously) lower voltage and the room that system's in is pretty cool. Also a Dell, a T5500 bought from the MM here a while ago.

You're overclocked pretty high though, again I wouldn't say 75 is anything to be concerned about myself.

Nothing to worry about there, my Haswell-E Xeon hovers around 65C.

My Haswell-E at 2.3GHz is averaging a tad under 30 minutes per WU (Haswell-E optimised app, WIn10), my L5639s at 2.2GHz-ish take a little over an hour (Ubuntu 12.04.5 stock app), GF's i7-2670QM seems to be around 17 mins per WU (SSE3 optimised app, Win10). This is based on the 30pt WUs.

I don't know much about Linux but usually if there's something not installed, you'll get a warning message of some description or work units will crash out rather than just not being able to fetch any work - at least that's what I have had before when I needed to install a component. I wonder...
