Is the 1080Ti worth it over the 1080 @ 1440p/60Hz for additional £250?

I suspect if we did see consumer Volta it wouldn't have the the compute/tensor flow capability. That would be given over to single precision FP performance. IF we see it :)

Is the 1080Ti worth it over the 1080 @ 1440p/60Hz for additional £250?

With Titan V already out Nvidia could well drop Volta xx80 consumer mid range very soon. It's a bad time now to buy a 1080ti. Agree with others, if you must go 1060

    Titan V announced £2700 15TF 12nm Volta

https://www.nvidia.co.uk/titan/titan-v/ At £2700 that's making your Titan Xp look cheap. On sale now. Limited to 2 per customer though . . . :D https://www.anandtech.com/show/12135/nvidia-announces-nvidia-titan-v-video-card-gv100-for-3000-dollars For gaming looks very disappointing, 15TF...

8700K OcUK Stock and Binned Processors

I'd be far more concerned if I'd bought a 8700k system to find out my cpu was probably one of the ones that wasn't good enough to be pre binned!

    Which 1080Ti

Performance and oc potential yes, noise no FE edition and some of the cheaper aftermarket coolers throttle and/or are too loud. Check the reviews and make sure you get a 1080ti with a decent aftermarket cooler that doesn't throttle and doesn't sound like a jet engine at take off when you launch...

** The AMD VEGA Thread **

I'd be very concerned about the noise levels on these, much louder than the 1080fe which is already unacceptably loud

Wow what a grim state of affairs for AMD, 15 months later than a 1080 and can just about equal it, not good news for any of us.

    ;)

Same here, still running a 3930k at 4.4ghz, 1080ti at 4k no problem. When Intel or AMD actually release a gaming CPU worth upgrading to I'll be straight there.

    GTX 1080 ti temps?

Just checked my Aorus, idling at 31c right now. I don't the strix fans run at all though when idling so I don't think it's anything to worry about.

These are very dire times for graphics card consumers. Nvidia launch 1080 end of May 2016, the only competition finally launch something ~equal in August 2017 :(

no one can answer this for you, it completely depends on how important £350 is to you.
