I know how you feel ;_; It's rare I'll carry all my kit on me at once, its either my landscape/wildlife kit or my portrait kit.
35mm 1.4, 50mm 1.2 and the 135mm 1.8 are the three I use for portraits. I never really wanted the 85 as I prefer the 50 - just a personal taste thing. Plus the 85mm...
From my initial playing around with it, 100%, I love it. Been waiting for this for a while, it's dreamy. Real test is some portrait work I have coming up.
Replacing my trust Sony Zeiss 55m 1.8 with the Sony 50mm 1.2 GM, pairing with the A1
Just a few quick shots with it, but have some more serious tests coming up portrait wise with my new combo
The 70-200 2.8 GM is a great lens and I'd would choose that over the 85mm you're considering, looking at your subject matter and interests. It'll provide a lot more versatility.
The 2.8 comment is rubbish, you'll only see a slight vignette at all focal lengths and whilst this particular lens is...
Thanks again. Here's to hoping the world starts getting back to normal by the end of this year. So very restless in wanting to travel again, even nationally would do if I can't go international.
Thank you! I use a Mavic Pro 2 where I'm allowed (so many places you can't fly now and the...
Thank you so much, that means a lot to me! Always learning and pushing myself as much as I can
Thank you! I'm extremely lazy when it comes to websites, so this is just bog standard Squarespace using one of their templates and then just customised to how I want it laid out. Very simple and not...
That's the plan!
I've owned the A7R3, R4 and now this - I've always loved the EYE AF - https://maxstanley.studio/kbgej2ettir1kkfzynxpn6mevu9q5w , this being a prime example I shot in Namibia in 2019. I'll be taking the A1 to Svalbard and the Antarctic later this year, so those will be the big...
I shoot wildlife, landscape and portraiture amongst other things - so too many to choose from ;_; But the main lenses I'll be testing are:
100-400 / 4.5-5.6 GM (I'm interested in the performance of this with the 1.4x teleconverter)
135 1.8 GM
35 1.4 GM
55 1.8 Sony Zeiss
(And the 50 1.2 GM when...
The extra cost just doesn't apply to the camera.
More pixels means larger files, so more storage space required.
Larger files means longer processing times in Lightroom and Photoshop, even on a fast pc it takes time to work on those files.
This also means faster SD cards are a must (I don't...
As someone who went from the A7rIII to the A7rIV - Unless you plan on doing massive prints, the upgrade isn't worth it for the extra cost you're paying and even then you can handheld vertical stitch. If you shoot wildlife then yes, the ability to crop in comes in to play.
Your workflow will...
"Titan" - A7RIV (FE 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 GM OSS) 1/160 @F5.6, 250 ISO
This was my first attempt at shooting wildlife photography, and my first big trip with the A7RIV (I recently upgraded from the A7RIII). I'm blown away by the eye autofocus on animals, so fast to focus and track even when using...
Recently talked to a few photographers who have substantial followings on Instagram - you can spend 24/7 working on playing Instagrams game and testing the algorithms. Or you can put that time and effort into working on your photography.
Most brands approach now via Instagram first and websites...
I'm interested in picking up an A7R III. It's been a while since I've had to shop around for a camera, checking google shopping prices shows such a disparity in prices for the body from 1,849 up 2,899 depending on the retailer - Jessops being at the higher end here. Is there something I'm...
Those are the ones I took more than likely :/
I won't pick up the silver one, so if anyone wants a silver 7+ 256 from Westfield Shepherds Bush, it's probably going back in the pool at 12.00
Keep checking throughout the day.
Just refreshed and booked a Black 7+ 256 in London a few minutes ago.
Also a silver, but that's because I misclicked and can't cancel it now... oops.
