How do you find it? any problems? burn-in? etc. Guess too soon to know.

    LG 42" C2 vs C3 vs ASUS 42" ROG Swift PG42UQ

I feel your pain. There doesn't seem to be the ideal monitor available. have you looked at the Asus? It looks like auto dimming can be turned off on that. Can't you use a USB-c to HDMI adapter, I believe they support 4k (not sure about 120Hz though).

    LG 42" C2 vs C3 vs ASUS 42" ROG Swift PG42UQ

Who'd have thought selecting a new monitor would be so hard. My 7 year old BenQ 32" 4k IPS panel has a number 'blotches' on the screen so time for a new monitor. Main use is standard office work, photo and video editing (8hrs pd). Then in the evenings some gaming (2hrs or so). PC recently...

Anyone gone from 32" 4k IPS to 34" Curved OLED?

My 7 year old BenQ BL3201PT 4k IPS panel is showing its age with some artefacts on the screen so thinking of a new monitor. Recently updated my PC which now has a 4070ti inside and I see OLED monitors are now arriving. My usage is mainly office work, photo and video editing and gaming. I'm in...

Battle of the 34" Ultrawide QD-OLEDS

My LG 65'' OLED TV got screen burn after 3.5 years, which was 0.5 years after the end of the warranty. Fortunately they replaced the screen for £300 as a good will gesture.

    Upgrade/New PC advice please

I understand. the PC runs fine with not too much running! The office suite and Adobe LR, PSP etc are the latest versions as on the monthly plans.

    Upgrade/New PC advice please

I do, I just copy them over to a 4TB HDD en mass and then edit them afterwards. I usually have plenty of other apps open at the time. I should probably shut things down more often (I do, but probably not as much as i should). They copy across OK, its just the PC grinds when I ask too much of it :-)

    Upgrade/New PC advice please

I spent £1,400 in 2015, so I'm guessing that and a little more this time. I think it LR and PSP do. Yes it is, always keep some 50GB free. memory speed is 2133MHz

    Upgrade/New PC advice please

I recently upgraded my camera which now produce 45MB images. When opening a load in LR and PS for editing, my PC tends to grind to a halt. Plus if I try anything else at the same time, the old egg timer regularly appears and an age seems to go by before my PC becomes responsive again. Current PC...

When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

So who is price scalping now if cards are some 3x over RRP. is it the retailers? the card manufacturers or chip makers?

why are 4k monitors so much more expensive than 4k TVs?

I get that. I guess I just thought that competitive forces would negate it to some extend given that the monitor market must be pretty big in itself and true production cost would not have such a great disparity. but then that doesn't stop most car manufacturers selling their 10% larger cars...

4k Monitors: For non gaming, worth it or not?

Just to circle back ... and thanks again for the words of wisdom and advice I bought the 32" BenQ 3201PT 4k IPS monitor. I'm very happy with it, the colours are better than my outgoing old Dell IPS and I like the larger screen size. It took some getting used to on the desk though, I do find...

why are 4k monitors so much more expensive than 4k TVs?

I'm not sure about this manufacturing argument. Inside, the majority of the materials are the same I'd guess, silicon, plastic etc. Plus most homes in the western world have a flat screen monitor in them, maybe not as many monitors as TVs, but enough to make a sizeable market (rather than...

4k Monitors: For non gaming, worth it or not?

Thanks for all the replies. They have been very helpful in helping me understand the trade-offs and resolution vs size! I'm going to go for a 32" 4k IPS panel. I think the £600 budget will get blown, I think the nearest seems to be the BenQ which I can find at £690. It seems to have...

4k Monitors: For non gaming, worth it or not?

thanks again for the replies, very helpful (I think ...) :-) so what i have learned: - I should go for an IPS panel as I value colours and photography work over gaming (which i hardly ever do) - Having lots of apps open at a time, I'd value some big desktop real estate - 27" is a bit too small...

4k Monitors: For non gaming, worth it or not?

Thanks for the replies ... nice to see different opinions :-) Firstly, I did allude to professional use but that was probably overkill. I do a lot of powerpoint, word, excel type stuff and I'm an amateur photographer. The photography isn't a profession, I just do it for local clubs, societies...

4k Monitors: For non gaming, worth it or not?

thanks for the replies, they are very helpful I just found a thread about a 40" samsung 4k TV doubling up as a monitor with positive reviews. something I hadn't considered. 40" would look massive on my desk mind, not sure how comfortable I'd be with that. At least it would have no depth as...

4k Monitors: For non gaming, worth it or not?

I'm passing my PC and 24" dell IPS monitor onto my kids who now need a computer for homework and suchlike. Meaning I'm upgrading! I don't really play games but do a lot of photo editing and run a lot of business apps concurrently. I'm tempted by a 27" 4k display but thought to ask any views...

Struggling to know what system I need, help please

Many thanks Gibliotech looks a great spec and on budget. Would I be right in assuming that this will have plenty of poke for intensive business apps, photo editing etc rather than gaming. Thanks again
