    GPU brands hierarchy...

For AMD cards I always seem to gravitate towards Sapphire first, then XFX and Powercolor as equal seconds. For Nvida Cards I would pick EVGA or Zotac first because of the 5yr warranty, I've had Palit and Inno3D cards before and have always been pleasantly surprised by the build quality. Asus...

    MINI convertible advice

I've been running a 16 plate manual JCW hatch for the past 3 years, can't really comment on the convertible specifics but the 2.0 has been absolutely solid and is a really flexible engine. Mines been custom mapped to 280hp/400nm, with most of the gains higher up the rev-range which makes it...

Has anyyone ever bought a B-stock waterblock? What was your experience?

I've had 2 B-Grade CPU blocks and both are still absolutely fine and still in use to this day. All parts were included.

    replacement x99 motherboard

So this arrived the other day: No fancy packaging, no instructions, just an IO shield, but reasonably well packaged. Build quality certainly exceeded my expectations. The BIOS is your basic American Megatrends Bluescreen job, but the options are extensive, it even appears to support...

AMD RDNA 2 potential longevity concerns?

I've used DLSS quite extensively to hit 144Hz @ 1440P when my card couldn't do it without (these were mostly more recent titles that used DLSS 2.0). Admittedly I've not used FSR anywhere near as much, and most of my experience has been experimenting with it in the Riftbreaker, but even at the...

AMD RDNA 2 potential longevity concerns?

I'm not too sure how cards from either side are going to have too much longevity, the 3080 and below don't have enough Vram for my liking, but at least they have dlss which can probably help extend their useful lifespan. The 6000 series is lacking in RT performance, and hasn't got DLSS to back...

    1440p / 144hz / Ultrawide (£500)

I've also got a gigabyte M34WQ on back order to replace an aging acer 1440p 144hz display. I originally bought a samsung odyssey G5 34" ultrawide but had to send it back: loved the size and responsiveness but there was definitely too much dark level smearing and the curve was waaaay to...

    replacement x99 motherboard

I'll check that out, I've also got an order in for a slightly sus looking X99 motherboard from the same auction site, it was only £60 and I'm genuinely excited to see what kind of wacky board actually turns up. It's a UK stock/seller so if it's not right I can just send it back with less hassle...

    replacement x99 motherboard

Hi all, Basically I'm pretty sure the motherboard in my wife's PC has died, it's an X99 system with a 5820k and 4x4GB@2400MHz. Basically it refuses to even POST, no error codes or anything not even the fans spin up, I've tried swapping memory/storage/PSU/GPU and no luck so it's either the CPU...

Which Graphics cards do you regret buying?

I bought the same card for my first custom build as well, paired it with an Athlon XP2600, I didn't really know too much about graphics cards at the time or read enough reviews being the 16yr old pc building noob at the time.

Is it worth getting a pressure test tool?

I've never bothered with a pressure tester, I always just do a run with distilled water to check for leaks over 24hrs running the pump off a separate PSU outside the PC. I guess I like to live dangerously XD

    Rebuilt Watercooling Loop-- Poor Temperatures

I'd invest in a water temperature sensor, it can make diagnosing this kind of thing a lot easier, if the CPU gets hot but the water isn't getting warmer then you can see there is an issue with heat transfer between the CPU and the liquid.

    Civic Mk9 radio locked

So to update, I called our local Honda dealer and said I wanted a radio code and had the serial number for the system, they told me to come down with ID to prove ownership of the vehicle etc. and they would charge us £20 for the code, which I though was fair enough. We got to the dealer, who...

    Civic Mk9 radio locked

Hi all, Bit of a shot in the dark but I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue or similar with honda head units; Just fitted a new battery to my wife's 63 reg civic 1.8 petrol but now the radio is locked. it appears to be this head unit...

    Engine re-mapping - Thoughts?

I've had several cars mapped (all turbo petrol hot hatches) in the past and never had any issues with them, currently driving a manual F56 JCW with a custom map on it, now at 280bhp up from 230bhp; whilst the stock car was quick enough, it always felt like it was artificially limited and ran out...

A Question of (expected) Supply and Demand

Regarding your point about stopping scalping, would it not be possible to block the voucher codes if the account buying the graphics card isn't linked to an OCUK forum account?

    Aqua Computer Aquaero Owners thread

Fair enough, I guess I'll pay up for a year license, not like it's breaking the bank, I was just a little confused because I've seen some information which indicates you get access to the current year's aquasuite and the next years version.

    Aqua Computer Aquaero Owners thread

Can anyone explain how the licensing system works for Aquasuite? I purchased a quadro in mid August 2020, and I assumed I had a years worth of updates, but now my software is saying that my quadro is only eligible for service updates up to 19/2/2021. Now I've updated my software and I can't use...

First "custom" loop - have I done something wrong?

Looks like your pump is rated as up to 65c, and most soft tubing will be ok at this temperature as well so your not in any real danger of anything bad happening. I'd add more rad space if you want to keep temperatures down and to a point noise as well, by far the biggest upgrade, imo, is to...
