Regarding the lack of coolant I suggest you have a pressure test done on the cooling system to identify any leaks. The thermostat housing is a prime location for leaks on these and an overheating engine will cause HGF sooner or later. The Ka has no engine temp guage and the temp warning light...

Look on the door plate for the gross weight and kerb weight. Gross weight - kerb weight = the max load you can carry (including yourself.. unless Ford are using European Directive 95/48/EC for your MK3, in which case they have included the weight of a 75kg driver in the kerb weight).

Stick masking tape on the body of the car around the old badge (tight against it) so when you remove it you know exactly where to fit the new one.
