I didn't measure the FOV and to be fair to the unit I didn't try it for long either. It just didn't feel right for me. That could just be my face shape etc so don't let that put you off, go in with an open mind.
The pad wasn't attached. Thin Velcro would probably be the best method to attach it...
Well I'm not a fan of my FOV mod. It does increase the FOV a bit but I find the reduced comfort not worth the trade off. Equally off putting is that it seems to make the image more blurry, although that could just be my eyes.
Ive got a 2080ti and 9900k and for MSFS I find if I set the resolution to 70% in OpenXR and 100% in MSFS, everything else roughly on medium, then it all runs smoothly except places like London. For that I need to turn the game down to 70% as well.
Still a great experience.
Ill post a better update once I've had more of a chance to test it out but my inital thoughts are that I didn't realise the pad I ordered with it will need to be attached. I only had glue around so thats what I used.
The FOV is increased but ill have to test it out a little more to get a better...
Well I've decided to keep the headset!
Over the past few days I've found the negatives of VR completely outweighed by the immersiveness of it. Its quite amazing.
I stand by what I said regarding the initial user experience. I'm sure we all want more people to adopt VR as this will lead to...
Well I'm certainly coming around to VR. The blurriness away from the centre of the image is much less jarring now that I'm used to it and I seem to have found some settings that work well for me in all but the most dense locations.
I just flew from Inverness to Aberdeen in a Spitfire, flying...
All good points and I'm glad I picked one of the better headsets to see if I like it or not. I'll give it a week or so before making a decision. If I return mine I'll wait for the next generation of headsets. VR could clearly be amazing, I'm just not sure when that will be.
EDIT; I just re-read...
I've had a bit more of a play and I'm beginning to enjoy VR in MSFS. I installed the older drivers for my 2080ti, thank you for the tip. I decided to abandon London and head to the Alps for some clean air. There was a definite increase in performance. And I take the point about MSFS not being...
I received my headset today and I echo Wunkley's feelings. I usually play MSFS on a 3440x1440p monitor with medium settings using TrackIR head tracking.
MSFS is the first game I've loaded up in VR and I have to say the visual quality is quite a disappointment. The 3D effect is perfect of...
Hello all.
I have a G2 arriving tomorrow. I've watched several setup videos on the headset but most seem a few months old. I've also read the last several pages from this thread, thank you for all the information.
One thing that stood out was the resolution per eye setting in SteamVR. 100% was...
Looks like there is a GS60 4k screen in stock now. Is this the model or is there another on the way?
I'm interested in the laptop but I'd like to see a 6gb GPU version. I guess it's not as important considering I'd play games at 1080p but good to future proof it a little.
