If you can get him to keep saving to £750 the Intel 8th gen i3 vr system with the 1060 6gb with the optional SSD seems fab. Got one for my son and have ordered 2 more (1 for me and 1 for the mrs).

Couple of thoughts- If he has a PS4 he's going to have been playing games somewhere between 720P and 1080P depending on the title (unless he has a PS4 pro). I would suggest that, if you really want to make this PC a quantitative gaming experience upgrade, you opt for a 1440P display and a GTX...

I would let him upgrade ram himself later (just can't afford the 16 from the start).
