EE sim arrived and quick test with work vpn suggests that the slowness is gone! Will find out on Monday for sure as I refuse to stay logged on for work with this decent weather :D
Thanks for sharing your testing results @Firegod
@Firegod does EE accurately report location of the ip when not using vpn?
With my iD mobile I get assigned a mainland location ip address when I am NI based. Slight annoyance but livable.
Thanks Il check EE out. It looks like they have updated their coverage checker and I can see my area being 5g covered!
EE unlimited SIMO prices are higher though compared iD mobile but might be worth it if it fixes global protect vpn issue.
I think it is related to slow upload but it's hard to confirm as there are times i get the same upload speed as my personal machines without vpn.
I also tried changing the APN similar to your previous post but I had no luck.
Ive been playing the new league in PoE the last few days and notice I do not get the regilar lag spikes when I switched the PoE server to Amsterdam. I was using London server before and the experience was not great.
I still have issues with my work VPN that I dont think will get resolve anytime...
Anyone here using 5g broadband as their primary internet connection?
I am seeing unifi lose its connection whenever the Three router/modem device gets a new IP address. I need to reboot the Ultra so that it can pick the new ip address coming from Three.
Three 5g NR5103EV2 (ip passthrough mode)...
I have been tinkering with the UC7-Pro and noticed that an SSID called 6ghz-control is being broadcasted.
I cannot see it in the Unifi Console but Im pretty sure it is coming from the AP.
Anyone know what is it and is there a way to switch it off?
Decided to order and go with CG Ultra + UC7 Pro as a first dabble into Ubiquiti world.
Was tempted to go UDM-SE but its not wise to dump big money at this early stage.
I dont believe its framerate as it happens as well during the early acts with no action. Watching the graphs shows a big spike in ping then goes back to normal.
I game on 5g. Most recent game i have been playing is last epoch and no issues (aside from LE server issues), played D4 grand.
Path of exile has this weird stutter that I was not able to address.
Have not tried any other games though.
Tried disabling ipv6 and changing APN to three.co.uk
Still the same. I cannot even do speedtest in my work laptop / VPN. They must have some weird setting that prevents it.
ThinkBroadband speed test works and I can only get 20mbps down 1mbps up.
Without VPN it can get to 200mbps down 20mbps up
Googling "three 5g broadband VPN issues" shows quite a few threads. Top suggestion so far is to check and disable ipv6.
Will check mine later and see if it improves.
Edit
@Journey what VPN do yo use?
My work vpn is global protect and its very slow. Not sure if its specific to certain vpn...
Interesting I have work VPN issues as well where everything is slow. I thought it was just me and the company's vpn.
But it seems like we are having the same issue Firegod
