You really think these cards are disappointing? Really?
Is it the stock beating GTX 580 speed whilst using much less power? Is it becausce they overclock faster than the HD 6990? Is it that idle power has been drastically reduced or that the fan actually shutdown when in idle? Is it the 3GB of...
They not only wipe the floor with them but p**s on them afterwards :D
If you don't like overclocking, then just grab the aftermarket cards. Sapphire has 1335Mhz on the core, fast enough for you? Think GTX 580's in sli. or grab the Flex for 6GB of ram. These cards are beasts anyone saying...
The 5970's were awesome cards, can still play any game out today at very high settings. Got a feeling the HD 7990 will be good for a few years gaming aswell. rumoured to $849, not bad considering it's 2 x HD 7970's :)
The 7800 series launch a few weeks after the 7900 series, there will obviously be price cuts to every range of current card, low-mid-high as the new replacements are released. Not long to wait now...
It's worth waiting, the 7870's and 7850's are out very soon. The performance will be better and not just that it will push down the cost of the current cards more as they become eol. You might be able to grab a HD 6950 2GB for £150 or less in a few weeks, maybe a GTX 560 ti for £130, price drops...
The OC cards look amazing 1335MHz on the Core  No doubt the N fanboys will still claim it's not 'good' enough for BF3 lol, at those clocks I think it beats GTX 590 and HD 6990?
I think you are cloud cucoo land my friend, every review/benchmark I have seen the HD 7970 destroys the GTX 580. Hands down pwns it, when overclocked the HD 7970 pi**es on it from a great height for good measure.
The N fanboys will remain biased without reason, the HD 7970 is a great card...
Yeah but will people be saying this when Nvidia drop the GTX 780, gives 5% - 10% more peformance over the HD 7970 but costs over £100 more, I bet the Nvidia boys will say it's good value haha :)
It's almost like people expect AMD to give their GPU's away for free, if you want uber high end, you...
The GTX 580 3GB is actually more expensive than the HD 7970, the 7970 is faster, runs cooler, uses less power and overclocks like a madman. It's easily worth buying over the similar but higher priced GTX 580 3GB :p
Remember were paying over the odds over here until prices settle. RRP is...
