NZXT Kraken X63 faulty pump/RGB controller?

Bumping the thread, thinking I’ll RMA the cooler as the RGB should be grounds for it to be accepted.

NZXT Kraken X63 faulty pump/RGB controller?

I have two problems with my kraken x63 currently. The first one is this grinding pump noise that happens at anything over 50% pump speed, I have raised it to 100% in the video to make it clearer, but it is noticeable in person with the quiet preset enabled. Only forcing to 50% all the time...

7800X3D build crashing when scanning for new hardware

Yep it was the CPU, all the software has installed now. Still have the high pitched noise but that’s a documented issue.

I’m not sure what that is, it’s all just hidden under a heat sink above the IO shield

7800X3D build crashing when scanning for new hardware

I think it’s the Intel I225-V. I know it has an existing problem, but I also get the restart when installing Logitech GHUB mouse software

Nope that’s my last step, waiting for overclockers to confirm the RMA.

7800X3D build crashing when scanning for new hardware

Yep BIOs is latest that fixes the burning issues with X3D chips. I’ve tried a known working PSU and the high pitched noise still happens, that’s how I know it’s the motherboard.

Testing done outside of case documented here, same high pitched noise, restarts on LAN driver install. https://imgur.com/a/3XKcnO1

7800X3D build crashing when scanning for new hardware

What I thought was cool whine from the PSU is actually from the motherboard, if you turn the volume up you can hear the high pitched noise, and see the PC shut itself off after attempting to boot windows. https://youtube.com/shorts/L5lR1cY2vvY?feature=share

So second hard did the exact same thing so that’s all good. I’ve now switched the PSU to a known working one and the high pitched noise I could hear is actually the motherboard. Must be some sort of problem with this particular motherboard and CPU.

Going to try second hard drive install, and then I’ll attempt the PSU

New motherboard did not fix it

Motherboard RMA confirmed, hopefully that’s the problem, if not CPU next.

7800X3D build crashing when scanning for new hardware

Here’s a video of it occurring: Video, I’ve checked the crash logs with bluescreenview and there’s nothing there. It’s like the board is short circuiting and powering itself off. Screenshots from investigation: Screenshots

Nothing like that, just enabling or disabling intel LAN adapter

7800X3D build crashing when scanning for new hardware

I’ve also reseated the CPU, no bent pins or broken pads I can see. I downgraded the BIOS as well and same problem. The network adapter sometimes works to connect me to the internet (it always crashes when trying to update the driver). Is it a hardware fault of the CPU or Motherboard? I can’t see...
