I've set my curve at 850mV max @ 1850MHz and it is rock stable. This is on a 3080 FE and it makes a huge difference; 220W at max load vs 300W. All for just 5-10% reduction in performance, if that...
Don't know how many of us there are but I've recently kept a closer eye on drops. No rush but I look forward to when this is not a game of fastest fingers first.
I had a 2060 Super Windforce and I can tell you that the easiest potential fix is to get a GPU metal support which will help to reduce the sag. I am guessing your card has only got a plastic backplate? Anyway, the shroud design is ass and prone to vibration at certain fan speeds, not necessary...
I was taking a photo when I got a telegram alert for a 3000 series FE. Literally the only time I've seen an alert in the same minute so it was just sheer luck.
Exactly, I lucked out with landing a 3080 last week and was so tempted to get an instant up to £1k profit if I scalped it but I didn't want to be one of those guys.
Basically this is tragedy of the commons all over.
I'm very lucky to have bought a 3080 FE thanks to Telegram alerts (another big up to FE PartAlert). These "new" cards have ridiculous prices that would have been laughed at so hard if we weren't in a semiconductor shortage.
Anyone else finding it tough to ignore the fact that we can sell our 3080s for almost 3 times what we paid for it? I am loving the performance so I won't do it but the temptation...
As someone that recently got a 3xxx series in a very lucky alert via telegram, I really hope so. There are still thousands of gamers out there without a good card and have been waiting to upgrade for months now.
I have the opposite, I thought it was PSU but after replacing it with an NZXT 750W I found the same noise was occurring and it was as coil whine! Grrrr
I second your recommendation, I undervolted my newly received card to ~0.875V so far and it is making a huge difference.
Ironically, whilst my 650W PSU (Corsair CX650M) can handle the load (system draw is <400W thanks for Ryzen 5600x and my undervolt), the PSU's fan itself is clicking away...
Assuming my card arrives on Friday, I'll have a 2060 super going but I don't want to sell it on those auction sites. What's next best way to sell it to a fellow gamer? This is all theoretical at moment!
